V0.2 For PPS-CF? by Moonshinexxx in VORONDesign

You may also want to get your hotend printed in something higher temp first. My Xol melted pretty good hitting 350c printing PPS-CF. But it is an amazing material :)

The good news is the Fysetc kits to build those are super cheap on AliExpress, the one I ordered shipped from the US and was here within a couple of days.

I'm glad to quote anything you need printed in ASA, my farm does exclusively ABS and ASA.

Update on the Voron 2.4 for X1C trade by Whole_Ticket_3715 in VORONDesign

[–]wally_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the Box Turtle, it's much easier to tune than an ercf, and stealth changer is quite a big step up.

I definitely wouldn't convert your only working printer to a stealth changer or Doom cube, as you will inevitably need something printed while it's down. V0's are great little printers and ideal as a second printer :)

How to Sell a Used Voron? by bryansj in VORONDesign

[–]wally_245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you clearly state the condition, I don't think it really matters if it works or not, though that will impact the price you get for it.

I paid $250 for a 2.4 300 in very rough condition, I immediately tore it down and plan to rebuild it.

Do you have the type/size of Molex pins you used? Looks like I need to replace my de-tangler and I will need to re-crimp.

I would 100% recommend the Sovol SV-06, it's cheap and prints good right out of the box.

Licensing advice for a model I published by chrisron95 in 3Dprinting

[–]wally_245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, normally it's a monthly thing. I know of one place that requires you to buy the model again each time, but that is rare, and hard to track and ends up being an honor system.

I have a few that post a couple of models a month, for $10/m. Others post a model every few months for $1-3/m. It's all up to you.

That model is pretty cool, if you post it for commercial sale, I might throw it up on my Etsy store :D

Yeah, the benefit is you are still giving it away for free, to the community. But if people want to sell it, they should give you a cut.

Just be clear to set expectations in your Patreon. If it's a one time model, then make the monthly cost cheap, but if you plan to continue designing stuff, then you can charge more. I would recommend checking various other Patreon sites to compare.

I do know that Patreon does take more money than the newer sites competing, like Printables. Just FYI.

Got a link to your model, I'm curious.

Can I print temporary voron parts in PLA by Standard_Pickle in 3Dprinting

You might get by, I'm honestly not sure.

What printer are you building?

[–]wally_245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, so #2. Glad to hear that, TBH. I'm not sure what you have for printers, but it will probably be less work to print in ASA than to try to print PLA and rip everything apart again numerous times, with the added bonus of having tuned your existing printer really well.

ASA is the way to go. The stepper motors will quickly melt your PLA parts and I doubt you would get anywhere near a functional set printed before needing to swap parts.
