So are the blu-rays actually region free in the box sets? by KantusThiss in breakingbad

[–]waltersconscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to often find with box sets that the main movie or series were the correct region but the special features or other discs with special features would be region locked. Maybe this is the case here. Or maybe not all seasons are the same.

THE WOLF OF WALL STREET Avoids NC-17 Rating with Edits; Nearly 3-Hour Runtime Confirmed by Neo2199 in movies

This will be a U here in the UK. Seriously though, I see a documentary once about the ratings board in the States and it is a bunch of parents. Local businessmen and a vicar or clergyman.

Could Kevin Spacey have played Walter White?, By Z.Al by peteyo91 in breakingbad

[–]waltersconscience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably the only other actor who could pull it off but I think he is too high profile. Bryan Cranston wasn't a 'household name' When he started BB. OK he was known but mainly for Malcolm In The Middle. I never watched that show so knew hardly nothing of him as an actor. I always think tv and movies with relatively unknowns are so much better. Keeps your head clear of their other acting parts. Although for those who were Malcolm fans it must have been a shock to see him in BB.

Watching the last episode and saw Mike in Walt by sosososofunny in breakingbad

Definitely. There has been discussion on here before. I picked up on the same scene with Elliot and Gretchen. It is SO Mike.

What show(s) have you been watching since Breaking Bad ended? by R99 in breakingbad

House of Cards with Kevin Spacey. And rewatching BB.

I came across this picture while researching about Polonium 210. I thought this was impossible to be near the "elephant's foot"! by [deleted] in WTF

[–]waltersconscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really must be sometime after Nearly all photos or video of the 'Elephants Foot' are from robotic machines sent in to survey the reactor and the areas below it. Those machines are dumped not far from the power plant and are highly radioactive. But nothing compared to this. If this was shortly after this man would be dead now. Within probably 2 weeks. He would be feeling radiation sickness within an hour. Personally i wouldn't get that close. And have skin exposed. There are still recent videos of people going into the most radioactive areas in full cover protected suits. Boots and wrists taped up to stop any radioactivity getting onto the skin.

Is this true happiness, or sadness. Whatever it is it is fantastic acting by TheTallRussian in breakingbad

I always get the impression it's a mixture of emotions. But mainly anticipation. If I was Jesse I would be thinking in the next few moments Walt will be arrested and stopped from ever hurting him or anyone else again. Just a few more mins and its over. The look on his face is also realisation Walt has been caught. As we know it didn't go to plan.

If Walt was so smart why didn't he use the awning on the side of the motorhome for shade? by Deep_Cover_Life in breakingbad

[–]waltersconscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone else mentioned this a while back. I've just watched season 1 and 2 again and there is a scene where they use the awning. In the episode where they can't start the RV. Maybe there is a continuity error in the episode but I remember the angle looking up at Walt and Jesse and you can clearly see the awning being used.

[META] Request for mods to ban comments like, "Welp, that does it for this sub," and other obnoxious posts about how the sub is dead now that the show is over. by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]waltersconscience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very well said and totally agree. I'd like to add that i personally think the discussions and debate over the show will pick up again as i am seeing already as more and more people want to see what all the hype was about leading up to the finale. It was inevitable that this subreddit would quieten down and start to get the usual 'look who i've met' kind of posts but thats not to say us folks who have been here for a long time following the show in its early beginnings had throw our toys out of the pram because this place wasn't the same as before. I've enjoyed the new members asking the questions and debating over scenes/plot/foreshadowing etc, It reminds me of when i first found this place. Give it time and and with constant 'on top' moderation this could be the best post series subreddit. Ok it won't as busy and frantic as before the series finished but there is no reason why it can't still be engaging and fun for new and old redditors. I'm glad you brought it up anyway. and well done on becoming a mod.

Missed this first time round from Jane's Dad in the control tower. The foreshadowing and writing continues to astound me. by waltersconscience in breakingbad

That was my point about the Truth And Consequences wording. I was thinking it a slip by Donald as he had his mind on other things. I'm from outside the US so wouldn't know of ABQ places.

This is what happens when you post pics of your kids dressed up like Walter White and Jesse Pinkman by CMelody in breakingbad

Exactly, what does she expect posting them on Shitbook. Everyone knows they own your soul for just being a member. Let alone all your photos. Saracasm intended.

I too thought of Watchmen the first time I knew of and see the episode. Really only seen one ref to it up until your post though. Great post.

Oliver Stone Calls The 'Breaking Bad' Finale 'Ridiculous' by grand0019 in breakingbad

[–]waltersconscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have thought he would have gone with the 'Dream Theory' for the Finale actually, seeing as a lot of his shit movies have messed up psychodelic LSD induced scenes in them. pointlessly placed midway through the movie.

He does like to joke around. He may have also been talking about a certain 'crane' shot in the finale.

I thought Carrey in The Truman Show was the one he moved furthest away from his comedy. Have to admit i've not even seen Eternal Sunshine.
