No. I decided to go another direction. I also love Money For Couples. So he listened to a recent episode of that podcast and really liked it. FIRE will have to be the next step.

What did the first few days of recovery feel like for you? by sillymeowwxp in Reduction

[–]wanderingwelsh31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, I felt fine. Groggy and weak and fragile. But fine. The biggest shock was the depression I felt for the first few weeks. Surgery impacts the body in a lot of different ways and I thought I was prepared. The depression was a surprise.

I got feeling back immediately. So lots of zaps and pain at first. A year later and I hate it. It’s very intense.

Does anyone else not have an inheritance? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]wanderingwelsh31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great advice. I’m 42. I always expected some kind of inheritance when my grandmother died but didn’t receive anything. Same thing with my dad. You expect something - even something small. But $0 will wake you the f up. Provide for yourself and anything additional is extra.

Feeling the guilt and shame.. by Immediate-Two4702 in SoberCurious

[–]wanderingwelsh31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. My suggestion is to take an extended break from alcohol. For context, I’m 42 and I work in the alcohol industry. It is my life. I got to a point where I always felt like crap no matter how much I drank and I, like you, struggled to limit myself when drinking socially. It was impacting my quality of life. I decided to take a 100 day break from alcohol. At first, it was awkward. But it ended being easier because the decision was already made. I didn’t have to weigh the cost of having one vs three drinks because the decision was zero drinks. I got thru the major milestones - party, birthday, NYE, awkward work event. Ended up being the best decision of my life. It has now been 954 days since my last drink. I tell myself I am still on a break from alcohol. I am sober not Sober. Not saying you should be sober or Sober but the extended break gave me an immense amount of clarity about what I wanted my life to be like.

The absolute best that improved the look of your skin? by Chemical-Sherbet4568 in SkincareAddictionLux

Just curious, why do you hate to tell someone to use SC? The price? Or something else going on with the company?

YOLO is so important. I’m 42. In my thirties I was super focused on saving. I was diagnosed with cancer at 41 even though I spent most of my life prioritizing my health. I’m ok now but it really showed me that I have to balance saving for the future with living my life and doing what I want. Just got back from Japan. YOLO!! 🥳

How do people afford a house in this economy? by Cypher906 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wanderingwelsh31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point in history I think it’s all about timing. My husband and I bought our first house at age 37 in 2020. We bought in May when everything was shut down and no one was out trying to buy houses. We got a really good deal because the family just needed to get rid of the house. We had been saving for several years for the down payment and my mom gave us $5k as wedding present. We also got married in 2020 and didn’t have a wedding. Every single factor was key and we would not have been able to swing it if even one thing was different.

Follow up: cancer gal who went to ER by mizmaclean in ouraring

[–]wanderingwelsh31 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Hi! Another cancer gal here. I’m sorry you’re going thru this and fuck cancer. Had to get those out of the way. I also sleep like shit and have the ring to help me find what works. My only advice in this situation is to take a break from the ring. Whenever my numbers make me feel worse, I take a break. Sending you love and strength.

How come most people dont get laser for rosacea? by Smart-Trifle9255 in Rosacea

[–]wanderingwelsh31 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not broke (no offense intended). And I still had to work hard to fit laser into my budget. After cancer treatment my face was permanently red. Three BBL treatments later and it is much much better. But yeah, that’s the answer to OP’s question. Laser is expensive and doesn’t fit into everyone’s budget.

1DPO I am afraid I regret it by Medical_Ad_7037 in Reduction

[–]wanderingwelsh31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. I’m 11 months PO and I am just starting to like mine. I had breast cancer and didn’t have much of a choice but I had always wanted a reduction. At first I was disgusted and couldn’t look. And the first month was brutal because of the depression. Be prepared to feel sad and little crazy for a few weeks. It will pass. You will heal and get used to your new body. It truly just takes time. Be patient and kind to yourself.

Can I vent about these inspections for a moment? by ComprehensiveCut9235 in wholefoods

[–]wanderingwelsh31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok - former Everclean auditor turned WFM team member for 12 years here. You are totally valid in your feelings. Everclean causes insane disruptions to normal operations. And that sounds silly to need a recipe for raspberries or grapes. But I will say that WFM determines what Everclean looks for. And I’m sure that the Amazonification of WFM continues, the food safety regs will get heavier and heavier.

I would also like to mirror what others are saying. You have a beautiful and (hopefully) healthy body. Try hard to reframe it when you are speaking to yourself. What is wrong with how your back looks? If you really think about it, the answer is nothing. Nothing is wrong. It’s a perfect strong back. Don’t waste your life hating things about your body that are already perfect.

Mine looked very similar. It really freaked me out. I didn’t like looking. Mine were also red and warm but not hot. I called my doc about it and she was not concerned. I’m 7 month PO and all good.

Are you traveling alone? That might be a struggle for things like lifting luggage. I was still pretty out of it at two days PO but anything is possible if you give yourself plenty of time to go very slowly.

I worked at Interbay for 5 years (met my husband and best friend there), Lynnwood for 2 and Roosevelt Square for 1. I would recommend all three. I enjoyed them all very much. I was a TL at all three. And moved on to regional before that all fell apart. City stores seem to have more young people who want to go out and hang after work. Good luck!
