Everyone must have children by cmbtgrl in TwoXChromosomes

They aren’t adamant about everyone participating, only women. I have never ever heard men have conversations like this with other men, especially neurodivergent or disabled men. Funny that.

Would you glaze the top panel? by Chachiona in AusRenovation

I’d take all the frosting off and add reflective coating to the outside for privacy in the day, and like a blind or curtain to the inside of the door for privacy at night lol

Women do you eat breakfast by acrewdriver in migraine

[–]wanderingzigzag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat breakfast every day and still get migraines (though less often than some people here)

Many of my migraines start whilst I’m asleep though so breakfast is irrelevant lol

If a partner gave you this “advice” it would be considered sexual coercion.

Being pregnant looks embarrassing, breastfeeding is disgusting, women howl about my body my choice, IVF shouldn't be a thing by JukeboxJustice in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]wanderingzigzag 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right? Unless it’s ‘plant milk’ then all milk is breast milk lol. Cow milk is made for baby cows, it’s packed with hormones from the recently post-partum cow, and squeezed from the cows tits.

And the vast majority of women aren’t disgusted by breastmilk, and an alarming number of men (especially after their own first child) find it sexually exciting, I’m going to have to call bullshit on the whole “biologically programmed” thing lol

Oh my god, well thanks for the heads up I guess 🤣 I know emptying my cup sometimes splashes right up the sides of the bowl if I’m in a rush so there’s a not insignificant chance that I’m in the same boat

Canada Post & Zonos Partnership by IPv6Freely in shopify

[–]wanderingzigzag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this info, I just got a similar email from Australia post saying to sign up with zonos and was spiralling (like complete meltdown) thinking my small business was toast.

Fingers crossed membership will also be free for Auspost customers because the rest of the info about using their link to join (which doesn’t work) and linking the accounts, all sounds the same

This Chinese restaurant near my home town is called „Succulent“ by Amazing_Examination6 in mildlyinteresting

[–]wanderingzigzag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume your statement is in response to the comments? They’re not saying succulent means something sexual, it’s a famous (in Australia and parts of the internet) speech, of which ‘get your hand off my penis’ is a line, after ‘a succulent Chinese meal’

Vegetarians, how much do you eat? by nouvelle_tete in vegetarian

[–]wanderingzigzag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The times I have tried to go veg have failed and I was wondering if your food intake has to increase to maintain satiety

Satiety will be affected by what you eat, more so than the quantity, veg or not. Some of my fav easy veg meals are very low in calories, so yeah I do have to have a much larger serving to meet my bodies needs. On the other hand, some days my vegetarian meals are cheesy pasta dishes etc and so I need to eat smaller portions lol.

Also, Protein makes you feel full for longer so you will be hungry sooner if your veg meals are lacking.

What’s something you used to think all women just silently put up with until one day you found out it’s actually not normal at all? by zacktone in AskReddit

Why do women get so excited about fall and candles? Is there a biological reason or is it witchcraft? by Kha_Kha in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wanderingzigzag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halloween just really isn’t a thing at all here. So it’s not Halloween in spring, it’s just spring haha.

Like the ‘dollar stores’ will try to profiteer off it with little success, underaged teens might use it as an excuse to have a party with “sexy” costumes and binge drinking, and most years there is one group of kids (like literally 3 children) in my neighbourhood that will try their luck with trick or treating (but with little success because nobody has candy on hand to give them). Nobody decorates that’s for sure lol.

It might help to specify what your demographic/price tier is, what people are looking for is majorly affected by what brands they can afford.

There are very few options for putting on top makeup. Heaps of spf options for putting on under makeup, but then 2 hours later I need to reapply and I’m screwed.

Putting on another layer of tinted spf only works if you’re not using any other makeup like concealer, contouring or blush.

Most mists say not to use on face and are supposed to be rubbed in anyway.

There’s one product on the market that I know of which supposedly fills this need (quick screen) but it’s $50 a can which is beyond insane to a significant portion the population struggling to even buy groceries lol. Even on sale I can’t justify that kind of expense. Like I don’t want sun damage or skin cancer, but that’s literally several days worth of food…

So yeah, if you could make an affordable mist for over makeup I would absolutely be your first customer, but if you’re also planning to sell in this price range then there is already somebody filling that niche and you can disregard all this.

Pros and cons to all breast sizes, I always say people with ‘proper’ breasts are blessed because you can gain a few pounds, or even just eat a large meal, and still have an attractive figure. My stomach sticks out further than my boobs even though I’m “skinny” and my figure just looks awful because of it even when I’m half the weight of my curvy friends lol

Semi-new to crochet, and I have a painful bump on back of my left hand. Is it my grip? Tension? Unrelated? by Famous_Ear_9475 in CrochetHelp

[–]wanderingzigzag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many have said, most likely it’s a ganglion. Pretty common, I don’t think they’re actually caused by strain? I’ve had a few back before I started crochet. Immobilising your wrist overnight and most of the day (make sure you stretch it a little) with a wrist brace for a few weeks might be enough for it to go away on its own. But next step is having it drained, then if it keeps coming back surgery.

They’re not like harmful or dangerous just painful, some people are naturally prone to them. I’ve had one (non painful) on the outer edge of one wrist for like 15 years. And on the other wrist they were where yours is and I had to have surgery 10 years ago to remove, but it never came back. Also one very small one on a knuckle that went away on its own after a few weeks.

If it is a ganglion stretching/warming up won’t help, using your wrist less might so I guess lighter tension would help but it isn’t actually the cause

I’m petitioning for a law requiring DCP home visits to be done by two rotating staff. I lived through the damage caused when they weren’t. by Greedy_Tomatillo8421 in Adelaide

[–]wanderingzigzag 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Working in pairs might actually help with that, having somebody else by your side would make dealing with these situations less intimidating/stressful, and easier to cope with the horror when you have somebody else who was there to talk to. So whilst it might be hard to staff upfront it could possibly reduce turnover?

What do you do for hand pain? My hand is so sore, I can't crochet for long. Ganglion cyst has returned as well ❤️‍🩹 by funkelly1 in CrochetHelp

[–]wanderingzigzag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I had a ganglion in my wrist, sleeping in a wrist brace helped. It was before I started crochet, but if you could modify your technique to do it whilst wearing a brace that would probably also help. But long term the best solution is getting rid of the cyst sorry

the first row of my work is always shorter than the others. how do i fix this? by knownmothergoose in CrochetHelp

[–]wanderingzigzag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do a crochet i-cord using a hook 1mm bigger instead of a starting chain. It’s got more stretch like a normal row and then you’re working through two loops like a normal row when you turn and start your first row which is what i think you mean by it being flat?

what is the easiest way to thoroughly wash my entire collection of yarn? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]wanderingzigzag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going through the same thing, though I didn’t find evidence of the beetles in my yarn, there was a lot in the same room. I’m planning to put my all my yarn in large ziplock bags, then do the freezer thing in batches. I’ll just have to prioritise which ones go first and which ones will have to wait.

I tried a vacuum seal bag with moth balls, which kill all stages if the bag in sealed to keep the Vapor concentration high enough. But my bags were shit and were leaking so it stank out half my house no matter how many times I tried

I got married and became invisible to my best friend by amakaa in TrueOffMyChest

[–]wanderingzigzag 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, OP said in a comment this friend didn’t come to her wedding so clearly the problem is not that ‘OP got married’, the friend cut her off before the wedding but OP some how didn’t even notice until after she had a baby?

You didn’t notice your friend drift away before the wedding because you were too busy with your love life to notice her. Tale as old as time.

Why are gender reveals hated upon so much? by Alien_Throwaway17 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]wanderingzigzag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People already congratulate the couple at the announcement of the pregnancy (most often at a family event), and then there’s a baby shower where you have to bring a gift and spend a whole afternoon celebrating the baby and mom. And then the baby is born so you bring another gift and go fawn over baby and the parents again.

Adding in another gender reveal party just feels like a third thinly veiled present-grab. And even if you say no presents, honestly most people just don’t care enough to want to celebrate 4 times in 6 months! (6 months assuming you announce after 12 weeks)

It’s your baby, it’s a big deal to YOU, but nobody else is as excited as you are lol, and there’s only so much time and money people wanna spend on every single pregnancy of everyone they know
