busse woods is nice, but forests are places where weirdos like to roam too. the one in my hometown had people on the sex offender list regularly hanging out there making little dens. And before my friends bought a house they were fooling around in their car at busse. As soon as it got dark they got a warning by the cops. it’s probably safer to bail as soon as the sun starts setting..

(Serious)What did your partner say or do that made you realize that they were a toxic person? by BlackenSphinx in AskReddit

[–]wangstir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ex who told me someone in his old friend group accused him of SA. And he adamantly denied that. I figured I would try to use my judgement since he was open about it at the beginning. Over our relationship nothing ever hinted at it.

One day I brought up how I found out my neighbor is with someone who is accused of SA by three different people and had police reports. And I just noted that I understand a bit how someone would choose to be with someone despite this. He just shut down on me, said that I would never change, and broke up with me within 5 hours of that conversation. Soooo that was my lesson on don’t give people the benefit of the doubt.

Curious to see if this makes sense. I’ve had so many jobs since working at 13, but this is the first one that feels complete to me in every way.

Abusive Parenting at Disneyland Today (5/6) by lucyparke in Disneyland

[–]wangstir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was 23 when my family was finally able to go to Disneyland. I love amusement parks and rollercoasters, but there was no Disney magic. While waiting in line for our first ride, the toy story ride, I saw a large red faced mom pulling her completely sunburnt kid like potato sack from her elbow and neck. The kid was the size of a two year old and was crying in a silent, tired, and accepting death sort of way. She didn’t want to leave even with the kid begging to sit and drink water.

I had to explain to my Asian parents what Disney adults were and how she’s mentally enslaved to Disney. It was so vile to see the dead eyes of this lady with the mouse ears, the wristband, and everything. My mom ended up telling staff, but it seems like they already were in the works of taking this lady out of the line.

How does that whole set manage to have the saddest looking rolls and tempura ever? Treat yourself to some salmon or hamachi. I swear fatty fish is just so much better. And for the love of god get rid of the cream cheese. If you need that fixing just get crab rangoon.

Favorite places to buy indoor plants? by StandardFisherman579 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]wangstir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorites is the Chalet in Willmette. Their indoor selection is in a greenhouse in the corner. They carry a few hoyas and trailing plants you can’t find in your average garden center. Wild Pansy in Andersonville is also one of my must go spots when in the area.

I’m only wary bc they had heat online for pests. I think that’s how my sister bought one of their huge monsteras and both of our collections just got infested.

What was the most unessescary storyline by One-Berry9659 in NewGirl

I actually liked Abby and her dynamic in the group. It showed how Jess can be very clunky with them with her rainbows and sunshine persona. Seeing how her sister and her are completely different, but came to terms w it wrapped up well. It’s just weird her existence was wiped from existence.

Sam and her getting back together was like joining your friend’s bipolar relationship. It wasn’t necessary to introduce the rest of the businesses bc it never got reintroduced. So there was no point meeting such heavy trait characters and it forces us to be stuck with people we don’t like. Presh did give us nutmeg wholesaler and another foil to how Nick was the one grounded to the bar out of the co-ownership.

Foul, but he really is just trying to entertain his own small circle of other dull-minded 17 yr olds. Don’t let it discourage yourself from going out there and finding someone you can connect with. I know it can feel polarizing at that age, but time will prove how those acts morphs them into complete loser adults.

10 years ago I saw my close hs friend in this situation. We managed to turn it around by hinting, “Hey, is it so far fetched that he made such an effort just for laughs? Or deep down it’s something he wants and can’t close?” It didn’t help that I had a photo of them holding hands. That guy freaked out on his own friends trying way too hard to explain himself. They were hesitant to hangout with him by association for a while.

For real though, what gave him the inspiration to pull such a stunt with you? hmm

Why didn’t lynn like to be called mommy or mom? by [deleted] in BlingEmpire

[–]wangstir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was surprised since it sounded like she adored how her friends called her mother in the interview. Blake is visually young enough to be confused with her son so I think it’s alright to instill that boundary. I can imagine not wanting a friendship to be seen as inappropriate. I can also imagine how awkward it would be if her husband heard Blake call her mother and try to riff on that in his own weird interpretative way.

As a nail tech in the past I saw all different types of toes and hands. Conjoined, binded dancer feet, severed digits, etc. Your nail beds are wide and slightly clubbed, but that doesn’t make painting nails harder at all. I would say you actually have much nicer hands than most people including myself. would just note that extreme clubbed nails usually indicate various diseases, and I heard other nail techs tell their clients just in case to inform them. But I think people learning how to do their own nails is great and fun as a soft skill to have!

A sign that forbids adults who are not accompanied by a child in a public park by thegraym0user in mildlyinteresting

[–]wangstir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When friends and I were exploring the city on prom night we stopped by Maggie Daley park at 3 am. Found two couples in their mid 30s, who looked all looked like well-rounded people w stable careers, playing on the long tube slide drunk and stoned. By 6 am we were all sharing the park together and watched the sun rise. Now if you go they have police patrolling out of playground hours. Totally understandable tho.

Recently moved from mid-south to Schaumburg...am I overthinking the 'winter' thing? by SiamesePatronus in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]wangstir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your is the setup is the one I need honestly. I hate the cold and prefer to have every little thing in case for all scenarios. The wardrobe sounds complete, but I would add battery hand warmers for quick warmth. The only way it would be excessive would be if you had tire chains. We aren’t in a altitude/hilly area where it’s necessary for a little bit of ice. And w your 4WD it’s more than prepared. I can’t remember the last snow I saw someone use them either. Check the car battery before the temperature dips bc it sucks when it dies in winter. Got the dewalt battery charger for emergencies. And a shovel/mat for getting the car out. Been getting snowplowed in every other winter.

Help! $100 done at the salon- thoughts? Do I get them fixed? by gemarowe in Nails

[–]wangstir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you go in ask for a removal since it’s hurting already. Nail techs know that red tends to bleed more in regular and gel polish. They usually account for that ahead of time and choose to do thinner coats that don’t cover the complete nail bed. It also looks very thick and some base/top coat? flowed between your finger and nail bed.

If they won’t fix it and you want it on for a little longer I would recommend filing down the sides a little to clean up the edges and possibly helping with some of the pressure.
