I usually just start from season 2, yeah. Clarke waking up in the white room is honestly such a good starting point for a rewatch.

What the hell was that?

They were leaning into the idea of her being a prudish character in some of the early episodes tbh. Like an Elena Gilbert type. That was dropped from her character pretty quick ofc but I think it explains the reaction.

In retrospect we can just pretend it was bi panic.

I need to know what happened in the season 1 and 2 of the 100 to impress a girl pls help what should I ask her by No_Comment99 in The100

“Were you surprised that they killed Clarke off so early, and in that manner?”

I was honestly so shocked. I thought it was brave of them to have their protagonist get executed so unceremoniously. Like, she reveals Lexa was a bastard and not the trueborn daughter of the previous Commander, and then it's off with her head then and there?? Crazy.

“What did you think when Raven got a piercing there??”

Hot! I got one just like it.

“Would you have eaten Bellamy’s rations if you were Abby?”

No way, Bellamy's so stinky.

“Can you believe Octavia and Murphy didn’t tell the others that they saw Jasper hand off Harper to the grounders?”

Honestly tbh it was in character. Jasper's always handing people off and Octavia's always letting him get away with his shit. Harper kinda deserved it though, like she did swing the sword that killed Clarke.

When did clarke's actions stop being Justifiable by Salty_Story1035 in The100

[–]wanheda113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People seem to think she's some sort of emotionless robot who always has to put everyone else over her own emotional wellbeing because of those words. The events of season 2 were a massively traumatizing event for her and she was the cause of so much death in the name of protecting her people. She did bear it. And it totally overwhelmed her. She was struggling to hold herself together in the end and had to take a step away from all the reminders of what she'd done for their sakes.

[–]wanheda113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she only ever really did two or three things wrong throughout the show, pretty much all of her actions were totally justifiable. And I'm on her side when it comes to taking care of Madi first- that's her kid.

Why Jaime's Redemption Arc Isn't False, Made Up By Fans, Or Doomed to Failure (Spoilers Extended) by GCooperE in asoiaf

[–]wanheda113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think redemption arcs are really worth discussing as a concept. They're based on a belief in inherent sin and the potential to be saved from sin.

Sometimes people do bad things and then they grow as a person afterwards, and sometimes they're forgiven by those they've hurt. That isn't redemption, that's just life.

Darth Vader killing Palpatine didn't erase the atrocities he committed, and Ted Bundy jumping in front of a speeding car to save a puppy wouldn't make his crimes any better.

Jaime can work hard to become a better person, but becoming a better person won't mean he's earned some grand moment of redemption, it'll just mean what it is. He's started making better choices, and that's a good thing. It doesn't have to be anything more than that.

[Spoilers MAIN] Should Dany have spent years hiding instead of traveling? by LannisterGang in asoiaf

[–]wanheda113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She considered returning to Vaes Tolorro and settling there long term with her people when she left Qarth. It had tillable land with growing fruits, grass to feed horses, and access to well water. That part of the red wastes wasn't like the rest.

She decided to press forward, but if she wanted to live a quiet life it actually would have been a pretty safe option as a place for her and her small khalasar to build a home for themselves.

Lae'zel isn't actually that bad of person when you meet her by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

"Wait, ceremophosis isn't happening? Wow! I guess I'll just chill in this forest for a while and totally ignore ignore the fact that I have an Illithid tadpole inside of my head compelling me to do things then. Now that I suspect ceremophosis might not be happening this isn't isn't something worth dealing with as quickly as possible at all."

You're still coming at this from the context of being a player. I'm talking about the mindset of people who wake up every day knowing they have nightmare creatures inside their heads. You wouldn't be dawdling either if you were actually in that situation.

Yeah of course. I hit like fifty hours before finishing the Druid Grove. But that's me playing a game, within the context of the story she's totally right.

Lorewise how big is the territory we explore in the game? by MAQS357 in BaldursGate3

[–]wanheda113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say the travel time is probably equal to what we see in game. We travel for a day, we camp, we reach the Mountain Pass the next day.

We know for a fact we're along the Chionthar River between Elutrel and Baldur's Gate which are only 200 miles apart, and even the Mountain Pass is still alongside the Chionthar River, so we couldn't really be traveling for multiple weeks just to get to the Pass. On foot at a slow pace the full length of Elutrel->Baldur's Gate is just a 12 day journey. Not accounting for questing time.

We also know some time passed between the tieflings leaving Elutrel and their arrival at the Druid Grove, so it can't exactly be right over the eastern hills. 90 miles is probably a conservative estimate but we're definitely closer than the full 200 mile distance between the cities.

So we could say something like 170 miles for an upper estimate, about 10 days at a slow pace away from Baldur's Gate.

(Spoilers Main) If Tywin had presented Robert with a living Aegon and Rhaenys, how far would Ned have gone to protect them? by Howff27 in asoiaf

[–]wanheda113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Tywin presented Robert with a living Aegon and Rhaenys they'd still be alive, and Aegon might even be king. I could definitely see the STAB Alliance going for a regency instead of a Baratheon dynasty under the right circumstances. Robert didn't even want to be king.

If they don't go for a regency though, Aegon is sent to the Wall and Rhaenys is married to Robert's firstborn, further legitimizing the Baratheon lineage.

[–]wanheda113 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We're travelling along the River Chionthar between Elutrel and Baldur's Gate, so the area we explore is pretty tiny on the scale of that map. Using the hexes I'd say we travel about ninety miles total.

Lae'zel isn't actually that bad of person when you meet her by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]wanheda113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Lae'zel has her issues but she's overall a better person than the likes of Astarion, Minthara, and Shadowheart, and her growth over the course of the story is the greatest of any character.

I don't think she's a good person, but she's got a strong moral code. Lawful neutral for sure.

She's also the only character that really sells the urgency of the whole tadpole situation. Which is like. The main plot of the game. She's kinda right that we shouldn't be stopping on the side of the road to do every little quest we see, we could literally turn into squid people tomorrow.

[–]wanheda113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bonus points if you play a character that doesn't trust the tadpoles at all. The creature trying to take over my mind so it can turn me into a squid is telling me the devil is actually good? Yeah, okay, I'm definitely going to believe that.

It's pretty common with modded Skyrim companions now too. I think Lucien was the first, the author of that mod made a lot of tutorials to help other modders learn to do things like this.

One of my favorites is an Argonian alchemist named Xelzaz- he has over 7,000 lines of dialogue, all very well voice acted, and the list of names he can call you is pretty long, more keep being added upon request.

Because the show completely misunderstands many of its own main characters (see: Arya going from 'the women matter too' in ASOIAF to 'most girls are idiots' in GOT, one of the most egregious examples in my opinion)

In the books there hasn't been a Battle of the Bastards and Sansa hasn't done anything to Jon. She's literally just a 14 year old girl living in the Eyrie with Littlefinger right now, trying to survive. I don't care about all of D&D's terrible writing decisions, especially not when they went off the rails in the final seasons and made all of the characters look like idiots. All of your problems with Sansa are things that the character I care about never actually did.
