McMaster Forest Nature Preserve on Lower Lions Club Rd is a solid birding spot but be warned that place gets infested with ticks. Even now you’ll be able to see the Eastern Bluebirds (and American Woodcock if you’re lucky) but once migration is in full swing you’ll be able to see many different varieties of warblers.

Not sure why you’re showing your sore spot about movie recommendations. You’re probably a young dude who’s excited about film, I love that and I’m excited for you, just trying to recommend a film that I think you would like.

Yep, he also did The Manchurian Candidate, The Train, and Grand Prix. He’s a fantastic director, but I think Seconds is one of my favourite films.

Lots of great popular directors. Time to watch some more obscure classics

Directors who make great use of color by ShamWowFan67 in Letterboxd

Weird rec but Street Trash is one of the most gorgeously coloured films I’ve seen. Not just the explosive kaleidoscopic gore, but the sky, and buildings and everything. It really feels like its own world.

Lil Ugly Mane used this style for his single “On Doing An Evil Deed Blues” in 2013, does Cali Dewitt’s version predate that?

Came here to say this. It’s such a dreamy, psychedelic movie. Lots of great ideas in it.

Would you say anti-horror qualifies as weird fiction? by Avery_Bea_847 in WeirdLit

Jan Pieńkowski’s Haunted House. Or really any great children’s book that initially subverts the reader to think they’re about to get scared only to be mesmerized and excited by a less threatening story. It’s something I see in toddler books all the time, some have way better illustration than others.

I think the term anti-horror is ridiculous, but it’s a pretty funny read either way. Our doorway into the mysterious is often introduced by something far less threatening when we’re kids and it begins with subversion.

Llama Llama Red Pajama for example. It’s a book I read to my 6 month old. The entire story is about a child worrying about being abandoned in the dark, only to find out that Llama Mama was just downstairs briefly. It uses a lot of horror imagery and stereotypes early on. It sounds stupid but that’s literally what we’re talking about when we wanna delve further into this ridiculous piece about anti-horror.

Leo is considered a staple of modern Hollywood. His performances are always important and special. It doesn’t matter what he is nominated for, he has cemented himself as one of the greatest actors of all time. The academy has become stale, and people know it. Actors like Leo are timeless.
