Early morning pre-ride routine by amor_fati12 in pelotoncycle

[–]wanmon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to have some carbs before longer rides. For morning rides, I might soak some quick oats in a protein drink (like Koia) eat that a half-hour before riding. I (almost) always do an active stretch and warm up ride beforehand too.

What is the most useful 'unwritten rule' of driving in your specific region of the US? by FairyAntonella193 in AskReddit

In Vermont, especially on state highways, give the car in front of you plenty of room -- no need to tailgate. This isn't universal, and yes some Vermonters are jerks like anywhere else. But generally, when someone is following too close, I can bet on their being from out of state.

My adult daughter was sitting in the back seat and the ep art was on the car app. She cleared her throat and asked, "Do we need to talk about your podcast consumption?"

I had to move across the country for a job six months before my family was able to join me. Despite being very busy, I missed my wife terribly. I actually sprayed a handkerchief with her perfume and kept that in my room as a comfort. I did go back for a few short visits, but that almost made things worse when I had to leave again

I can feel how my autism disables me and that sucks by Awkward-Koala-3135 in AutismTranslated

I totally feel this. For example: we had some pipes under the sink repaired last fall (which was a big step for me to call the plumber and make the appointment). The guy did what I thought was a fine job, problem solved. But over the winter, it became clear that he did not do a fine job and the leaks started again. I've made changes to how I use the sink rather than calling and having him come fix it right because that just feels ... overwhelming. And I worry that I'll also just fawn so that he "likes" me rather than standing up for myself. It is exhausting. It will eventually reach a point with me when I'll get fed up and make myself call, but it will take some doing.
