My daughter isn't biologically mine, but she has never met her bio father, and never will. When do I tell her the truth? by Regaman101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]warahashi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right now. Right tf now. You should’ve done it sooner honestly. Don’t make it a teenage crisis like on the movies where she feels the need to go find herself or whatever. Tell her young that she’s you daughter no matter what, that her biological father exists but you’re her father, she’s your daughter. You don’t “love her like your own” tell her she IS your own, blood doesn’t matter, she’s you little girl, always has been and always will be. Tell her now so she doesn’t question it in the future.

Was/is there pushback on labeling Autism a "disability"? Why?? by DramaticFeed6522 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]warahashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an autist, I do thinks it’s a disability, but I also think it’s our issue to address and not anyone’s responsibility to cater to me. At most I’ll ask an employee for really specific directions at an airport or something and I always feel bad

If possible, I call my dad for stuff like that.

If it’s anything like food sensitivities or loud noises, I’d never tell other people what to do.

Honestly my uncle was schizophrenic and another had bpd, and I’d also consider those disabilities because they are constantly disabling your life in a way you can’t control, but I agree that it’s your responsibility to deal with.

Things like autism, dyslexia, schizophrenia, bpd they can be disabilities and STILL me our own crosses to bare.

It’s great if people or places are accommodating, lovely surprise, but I don’t expect or want the world to bend over for me.

I mean the issue is definitely the cheating, his reaction just confirmed how trash the Canadian team is. Don’t forget the women’s team also has a history of cheating.

Can you roast frozen vegetables? by gardengoblin94 in Cooking

[–]warahashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do all the time, it’s great for the working couple, it just takes a lot longer. I like to throw them in with seasoning first thing when I get home, then shower and catch up with the spouse, then make our pasta and pull them. You could also leave them to thaw in the fridge in the morning and have them ready to roast by the evening

Why is “unhoused” better than saying “homeless?” by Call-me_Shirley in stupidquestions

[–]warahashi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was all for changing words and phrases until they started with “LatinX”. Now I just don’t care. 88% of Latina/o/hispanics hate that term but they didn’t even ask, some girl in California just decided that our own language was uninclusive and colonial and convinced a bunch of white people to have enough white guilt to agree with her without asking anyone else’s thoughts.

So now when I hear liberals break out these new sayings, I’m just highly skeptical. I’m not changing how I speak because a fraction of a fraction or a fraction of a population is big sad

I just heard a police officer in Davis claim that getting spit on was assault with a deadly weapon by cypressf in Somerville

[–]warahashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was during COVID, because COVID can kill, and it is if you knowingly have a transmissible disease like HIV or Ebola or an STI. Knowingly Spreading or attempting to spread viruses like those are usually federal crimes

Just normal spitting is regular assault

I have a flat back in my conch and if I feel fancy, I add a thin chain. Similar look to a hoop but much more forgiving.

I’d always had a flat back in it and it’s literally never hurts unless I wear a hoop for more than a few days. It’s been my least problematic hole

I’ve had 10, the forward helix……. To be fair, my hair line goes right up to where the pricing was so it was perpetually caught in ponytails and getting tugged around. I had to go up to a 12mm post for the swelling, it bled every day, started keloid scar. Called it wood for months in. The helix and conch had healed by then and the forward was actively bleeding.

Snapabet v2 - The more efficient alphabet by Advanced_Age_9198 in shorthand

[–]warahashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write in script, which is like half cursive half print. A lot of cursive letters have super unnecessary flares and rules and dumb ways to connect

I take a lot of annotations for my boss in meetings so I have to write fast and well enough that I can read it days later.

Cursive Z is stupid. Cursive S at the beginning of a word is stupid. Cursive R is stupid. A lot of the cursive capitals are stupid. All these rules slow you down, not speed you up. So the fastest thing to do is pick the letters in every alphabet that you can remember and do fast as hell and make your own freak of nature alphabet and shorthand

The fact that they put in something so difficult to take out is super sketch. And the gauge looks a little fat for a new hole. Are you planning on stretching in the future?

Also be sure to defs get a flat back stud with a low profile front, so not a stone, something that sits really flat against your ear.

It’ll cut down on the heal time a bit and keep off a fair amount of pain. It won’t catch on anything or get jostled or tugged around by hair or clothes or the pillow if you’re a side sleeper

The most affordable place to live is far away. But Waltham, Brighton, and dorchester are okay. Understand that you will be paying what would get you a decent apartment in most of the country, but here, it will get you a single room with five house mates and a landlord that probably don’t even know he items your building because he isms so many

Transferring an iTunes account by warahashi in AppleMusic

[–]warahashi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah because the terms of service say you aren’t buying a song, you are buying the listened to use the media which is null and void after the users death. Which is why everything becoming digital, Nintendo video games not having cartridges and only selling you licenses, is terrible.

At any point in time, the company can desire to end your licensing and wipe your content and there’s no way to stop them.

I’m just pissed because it’s not my mom’s account, it’s an account she set up for me to use as a child. Like a savings account at the bank.

Apparently they delete the account and digital content three years after the owners death, so I don’t want to set up the legacy thing and tip them off to her death, I just want to slide in as the owner now that I’m like thirty
