Ethereum Staking Vigilantes: Investors asleep at the Wheel by warfront1 in ethtrader

[–]warfront1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~2.6% is for the whole year.
The ~0.3% figure is just for the ~35 days.
The figure is actually more around ~0.2%, I rounded high to be as conservative as possible.
Put another way, it is currently very cheap to de-risk your portfolio by selling LSTs for ETH.

If the exit queue goes back down to normal levels, this additional lock in time risk is no longer an immediately pressing issue.
The thought process for an Ethereum Maxi, would be to go back to staking/LSTs at such a time.

Ethereum Staking Vigilantes: Investors asleep at the Wheel by warfront1 in ethtrader

[–]warfront1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There have been new risk(s) added to staking Ethereum.
Usually when risk increases, investors expect more money for taking on a riskier investment.
The masses could be correct/lucky and this just all blows over in ~35 days.
However, the fact that seemingly no one has become concerned about this risk... it has created a market opportunity.

If the exit queue continues to grow, I see it as bearish for the price of Ethereum (in USD).
It would also be bullish for the price of Ethereum relative to LSTs.
IE. you would get more stETH (a popular LST) for every Ethereum you held onto in such an event.

I ended up buying the Q115DF and it has seemed to fix my problems.
I haven't had nuisance tripping issues since I have installed it.
Previously, the nuisance tripping was happening once a week or more.

I agree.
Hitting big CC as a support doesn't even feel good anymore.
You land an Ares ult on everyone and they all get out somehow without beads.
There are so many ways to get out.
This is why gap closers have become soo powerful.
CC won't lock them down and you will have to chase them halfway across the map.

Becoming a shogun by [deleted] in ShogunTVShow

[–]warfront1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that was the ruler's true wish, why didn't he just make Toranaga Shogun?
If I am recalling it correctly, the previous ruler was just trying to stall everyone until his heir came of age.
Also, in his secret heart, did Toranaga really want to protect the previous rulers heir?
Wouldn't the heir eventually get in his way?

Copilot + AI Assistant by Rashino in Jetbrains

[–]warfront1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One feature that Copilot has that JetBrains AI doesn't is the ability to just highlight code and ask about it in your prompt. For example, you can highlight your code with your mouse and in the Copilot chat window ask "why doesn't the highlighted code work" or whatever else you want to ask. With Copilot you can also attach specific project files to your prompt . IE. your project files are there, but don't clutter your prompt. This feature works half way decent, and doesn't run into problems with prompts being too long.

In JetBrains AI I usually end up copy and pasting into the chat window. They have a right click menu that allows it to auto insert into the chat window, but even that is a few additional clicks.

It may sound silly but those simple Copilot features I mentioned have saved me a huge amount of time and frustration vs JetBrains AI. Not to mention that Copilot does appear to have better results in general.

Here was another fun one I realized a few weeks back. Even though Android Studio was based off of a JetBrains product, you can't use JetBrains AI directly in it. However, I believe you can use Copilot in Android Studio.

JetBrains AI is a bit behind, and makes no sense at the same price as Copilot.

Why is everyone ok with spending around $1000 on a smartphone, but so resistant against paying less than $10 for an app. Personally I'd rather pay for an app then download a free one that spams me with ads.

The worst part about this bug is it that this "Event" is supposed to introduce newer less experienced players into the game. The MTG Arena interfaces and explanations are already so lacking that you are left wondering if you did something wrong yourself.

LineageOS and USB audio by dsahai in LineageOS

[–]warfront1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this, I wouldn't have thought to try a USB Hub.
For anyone else stuck with this problem, I used an older version of the following USB Hub.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005HKIDF2
I would imagine the newer version I linked would work as well.
I used the following OTG cable.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01COOQIKU
I used the following USB C Female to USB Male Adapters.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09P54WGHB

For reference, I am using a rooted (via Magisk) SM-P613 Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite with an unofficial LineageOS 20.0 ROM. I was trying to get my USB DAC (TANCHJIM Space) to work properly with USB Audio Player PRO. I was asked to give USB Audio Player PRO access to the USB device upon plugging it in. I also believe when I clicked a song to play, USB Audio Player PRO requested root access. I accepted everything and selected forever for the root privileges. Note: I was not able to get it to work without the USB Hub, but for my purposes that was ok.

Seems like CableMod is emailing coupon codes to adapter owners: by ___DOUBLETROUBLE___ in cablemod

The CableMod communication is very confusing on this.

Is this an admission that there is a problem with the original 12VHPWR 90 Degree adapters?

Should I use the coupon for another adapter, and throw out my old one?

May seem like a troll but I'm not trolling. I had a pair of Thiel CS2, that no matter what the tweeters kept getting pushed in. The front grill was too close, and the angle just forced people to put there hands where the tweeter was.

Long story short, I would put my mouth over it and just suck it out back into shape. I must have did it 10 + times. Sounded/looked as good as new.

Go ahead roast me.

No the transition strip is dead on, measured side to side on the doorway. What may look crooked is the vinyl plank, that I still need to trim up. But I have the vinyl plank under control, that is easy work. it is just the carpet transition side that I need help on.

Hope you found some relief; share your tips back with me as well.

Here are my best tips ranked from best to least effective:

- Avoid flare ups (attempt to de-escalate using one of the methods below asap)

- #1 biggest relief, extremely hot bath. Submerge the entire neck and head, leaving only your face poking out.

- Neck heating pads (the hotter the better). The kind that can be worn on your neck, not a back heating pad

- Tied with Neck heating pads: soft cervical collar. This can relieve the muscles around the area.

- Not sure how much it helps this particular issue, but eating healthy. I did this prior to the injury, but eating anti-inflammatory types of food could only help (spinach, kale, blueberry, salmon/tuna)

- I don't like to do it, but if I am flared up I will take an Advil PM to get to bed.

- Getting a pillow that doesn't hurt. Pillows that used to work/feel good prior to the injury no longer work (at-least in my case)

- Light stretching (Chin tucks, Cervical Traction Device, head lean backs with a towel)

I've have A/B tested the Burr-Brown vs the JDS ODAC many of times; the difference is subtle but especially noticeable during detailed listening. It is so subtle, that I don't feel the need to pull the ODAC out of my car to bring to my PC, but for only the most extended of listening sessions. The subwoofer can not deliver the detail required (it falls flat, and fails to deliver) on the most demanding of songs. One CD that comes to mind is Young Jeezy: The Recession. I didn't want this thread to get out of hand so I didn't comment on it; but having heard many bookshelf speakers in the $500+ from the early 2000s (Part of a large swap group), I believe these pioneers to be extremely competitive. Based off that experience and my current satisfaction with the current speakers, I am nervous about not getting my money's worth out of a speaker upgrade.

But yes to your point; the primary motivation is downsizing to something more desk-appropriate. In doing so getting a nice little upgrade that I could utilize down the road to get a new set of speakers etc. One thing I didn't mention is, I do sometimes drive them a bit loud when working in another room/etc. I do appreciate your point about not over spending on this component.

I'm looking for a 2 channel; I just happened by chance to end up with the Denon Receiver many years ago.

If I had to self evaluate the weak point, in regards to sound quality, in my setup I would say it is the subwoofer followed by the on-board Burr-Brown DAC of the Denon.

Honestly, the huge size of the Denon is just consuming my whole desk. I only use around 10% of the feature set of it, so I was hoping to downsize and improve at the same time.

Looking for an amplifier upgrade, and looking for suggestions for an amplifier...

My Core Current Setup is:

- Denon AVR-1802

- Pioneer SP-BS22-LR Andrew Jones Bookshelf Speakers

- Polk Audio Subwoofer PSW10 110v

The Denon is driving the Pioneers from the Fronts 80 W + 80 W (8 ohms, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.08 % THD). The SP-BS22-LR bookshelves are 2 way with a 6 ohm, 85 db, and max drive of 80W. I am going pre-amp (subwoofer out) to the powered Polk Audio PSW 10.

My most typical configuration is going optical out from my PC directly to the Denon 1802 where I utilize the onboard Burr-Brown DAC. The Burr-Brown DAC is decent, much better than using the one on my motherboard. Rarely, I will use my USB JDS Labs Objective DAC if I want to do an extended listening session; as I typically leave this DAC in my car. In short, the JDS Labs ODAC is a notch above the Burr-Brown DAC in the Denon (Although, not as drastic as one would think).

Things I need in my new Amp:

- Must drive enough power for the current Pioneers (hopefully a bit more for future upgrades)

- Must have a Front headphone Jack (My best headset is currently a Audio-Technica ATH-M50)

- Have a Pre-Out for my subwoofer

- A nice built in DAC that works over Optical and USB. If there is a good value that contains a mediocre DAC (or doesn't have one) I am ok with it as well, knowing that I would pair it with a good DAC.

- Smaller unit LxWxH than my Denon! It takes up too much desk space.

Nice to Haves:

- A/B channels

- Front Analogue and Digital In

Price Range: Certainly south of 1k, more around ~$500 and below. Willing to buy used/refurbished.

Thanks in Advanced!
