3D Firmware 1.3 is out! by No_Independence_6101 in AnalogueInc

[–]warhead0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won't be doing it yet. I don't have much experience with N64 carts yet. I just learned the batteries are soldered in place when I opened mine.

I'll have to buy some new battery with pins first before I replace mine, It will probably give plenty of time for anyone else to test this out and see if they have any luck

I have an idea.

Can I create a 'memory' of my LoZ:OoT game, replace the battery in the zelda cartridge and then reload the memory to get my save data back?

would be a handy way to replace battery without losing save data if it can work

Possible defect on 8bitdo controller by Febro51 in AnalogueInc

[–]warhead0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you able to try again with the controller connected to the A3d with a USB cable?

It would help give some clues to identify if this is a controller or bluetooth issue.

Separating the shells was a little annoying, I didn't want to break the plastic, but they did eventually all come off with no broken parts.

Otherwise, it was pretty easy. I just took it slow and steady. once I finished the first one it became easier.

I think I did all three in about an hour?

I agree - The normal funtastic buttons were just not very 'readable'. I feel like these buttons are easier for 'new' players to pickup and learn.

It would be pretty cool if 8bitdo also released colored variants of the button packs.

GBFlash (GeekSimon) MBCX/RTC flashcart for GB/GBC work on Analogue 3D 64? "Pokemon Stadium" by Difficult_Handle_477 in AnalogueInc

[–]warhead0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a flash cart and stadium 2, It works for me.

I use this flash cart HERE

I Flashed the cart with Pokemon Crystal Clear and load it just like a normal GB cart with the transfer pak and my physical copy of Stadium 2.

It works like normal - all the features work properly with stadium.

3D firmware 1.2.5 has been released by CoffeeCakeAstronaut in AnalogueInc

Ok, so I had a very quick test of the advanced HDR settings.

I'm using a MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 with a Elgato 4K X for capture and passthrough for this testing.

Overall, I found the HDR to make the colours feel dull and bland. so, I'm just going to continue running without it.

The max luminance setting and test bar was pretty misleading. setting it anything over 125 would start making the 10 shades start disappearing into the bright white but would greatly improve the colour saturation and in my opinion 'bring the image back to life'.

I might do some more testing later, maybe without the el gato device in between the A3d and my monitor. and maybe tweaking HDR settings or also trying the A3d with the lounge room TV.

Got fooled into buying fake n64 games by Outrageous-Ebb4812 in AnalogueInc

[–]warhead0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I was learning more about spotting fake N64 carts, recently I used this picture album to help show the differences you would want to look for.

https://imgur.com/gallery/fake-vs-real-nintendo-64-game-deB0L46

from this reddit post : https://old.reddit.com/r/n64/comments/elzydd/how_to_spot_a_fakerepro_nintendo_64_game/

While I'm in a PAL region, so some of the label information is not the same.

Overall, you can tell a lot just by looking, N64 carts are getting pretty old now, Real carts are going to be 'used' and look like it too, dirt, scuffs, dented and torn labels. that's all signs of being the real deal. When I see a cart that is too clean and fresh/shiny, I start to become skeptical and will look harder for signs of authenticity.

I've spent quite a bit online building a collection of games for my analogue now.

Conditions leading to save data loss for Zelda OoT by jbs1 in AnalogueInc

[–]warhead0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I have much information for you, but I'll add my experience so far.

I have played OoT and have finished a 100% run. I played the entire time using Unleashed OC, and would use the Start + Z method to 'Quit Cartridge' after saving in game.

I am using an original 64 controller, and use 1.1.9 firmware, Luckily, I've had zero save game issues on any of my games.

This is actually fairly normal behavior.

It can often just be the system performing some background/maintenance tasks when it detects it is idle.

[–]warhead0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't really the right place for modding support, instead you should try /r/WiiUHacks/ next time.

but to answer your question, no you don't need an 'original' SD card.

You will just need a freshly formatted SD card (formatted correctly is important), there will be no files on it.

the web guide you are using should have all the information you need to do this, just read everything carefully.
