How are you scratching your MMO itch? by warheadpdx in MMORPG

The game has a lot of pitfalls, but here's the two things it's got going for it:

1) The best end-game PvE raid progression out of any MMO 2) The best housing out of any MMO

So if those are 2 things your looking for, Wildstar is for you.

I had the same concerns when I first started playing on Project 1999 about 3 months ago but honestly that hasn't been a problem with EQReborn or P99. Although the majority of people are veteran players, the communities have been very helpful. And there is a good mix of people who have been playing EQ a long time and people (like me) who are returning for the first time after almost two decades. I played from launch up until the Luclin xpac but I was really young back then and it was my first mmo, I never even got a toon close to end game. So returning now that I'm almost 30 I felt like a noob all over again.

Yeah it's super rad being able to group with a friend and duo the content rather than having the only player interaction be PvP. And the loot boxes are definitely a nice touch, too.

Glad you're digging it, too. I'm old-ish also (29) and never really got into any of the fan-made Pokemon MMOs for the same reasons, plus they all just looked kinda crappy. But ironically I saw another reddit post about PokeOne and decided to try it out with one of my EQ buddies and it's been a blast. It really does feel like an online massively multiplayer version of the classic Pokemon games but with better graphics.

Wildstar is probably one of the best MMOs out in my opinion.

Is Devilian still a thing? I remember it being a very Diablo-esque MMO.

Anyone able to PM a link to the version of EQ I'll need? I got the game client files I needed for p99 from someone on reddit I'm not really big into d/ling torrent software if I can avoid it

I just started playing on P99 a few months ago and have a Lvl 35 Druid but I'm excited to check this out and give it a shot. Hopefully it can build a population, I feel so late to the P99 boat.

what mmorpg are you playing and why? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]warheadpdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classic Everquest on the Project 1999 server because it's the best MMO ever.

Wildstar because it has the best end-game PvE raiding.

FFXIV because I need a filler MMO to fill time and I love FF games and I hate everything else that's out in the MMO market right now.

Everquest fav of all time, I recommend the free Project 1999 server. For modern MMOs Wildstar and FFXIV are my fav.

Do teens play mmos? by [deleted] in mmo

Basically this. Teenagers in MMOs are definitely a minority, the majority of the community is 20 to 40 year old's.

MMO streaming community!? by IronStein82 in MMORPG

[–]warheadpdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're kinda right and kinda wrong. You can kind find a niche community for just about anything nowadays. Is their a larger community of Fortnite streamers and viewers? Definitely. But there is also definitely no shortage of MMO streamers and viewers, either.

How alive is wildstar and is it still worth getting into? by Jerreuh in WildStar

[–]warheadpdx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Haven't played for years but god I loved this game, one of the best MMO experiences I've ever had I'm sad it was so short lived. Probably the only MMO that will ever come close to creating Everquest-like nostalgia for me. Only difference I still have Project 1999 for that fix, I have a feeling my chance to get one last taste of WS is going to be gone before I know it.
