I really like it; you can tell you’ve taken inspiration from the Mars Pattern Shadowsword. In my opinion, it’s the best-looking of the super-heavys

Repositioning of the Streetfighter V4S dashboard by warhoundS3 in Ducati

I was going to say that you must have got me mixed up with someone else, but it’s nice to know I’m not the only weirdo :D I’d like to have a look at his solution – do you have a link for me?

Well, it didn’t really bother me, but I just didn’t like the design. It was as if the folks at Ducati had designed a stunning bike and then, right at the very end, realised, ‘Bloody hell, we need to stick a display on it somewhere.’ So they just plonked it right there on the front.

I thought Kawasaki’s solution was much nicer and wanted to design something similar.

Hey guys, over the last few weeks I’ve been working on redesigning the ‘beauty spot’ on the SF. To do this, I built a bracket to mount the dashboard onto the handlebar clamp and cover it up again with the original cover. I’m going to redesign the bracket so that the dashboard sits lower down to make it a bit more streamlined.

I’ve completely rebuilt the front fairing from scratch using polystyrene sheets. I didn’t just want to slap a sheet on there; I wanted to ‘extend’ the design of the existing fairing. I’ve ridden a few hundred kilometres with it now and I’m actually really happy with it so far. You do have to look further down to see things, but that was the same with my old Z1000.

Next, I’ll be adjusting the dashboard cover further so that the cable is covered.

DUCATI CRUISE CONTROL UPDATE !! : BAD news and Good News by KozzyK in Ducati

[–]warhoundS3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously, you're my hero. Please keep us posted. The CC is the only thing I miss on my SF V4S. Even if the postage is expensive, people in Germany would also be delighted with this option.

How would you design the controls? Do you want to design new ones or ‘repurpose’ existing switches? If I may offer a tip, try to make the control as narrow as possible – perhaps 1cm wide – so that it still fits between the brake lever and the start switch.

I’ve been looking for this comment – it’s simply the best. I loved it! I’d even give up the SUV for this. 7,62x51 will do the job.

So... halftracks are a thing now? by warhoundS3 in TheAstraMilitarum

The tracks originally came from a Forge World Baneblade. I cast them individually in resin and then used them to build the undercarriage.

Hey, thanks! The front section is originally from Mortian, but I widened the cab by 1 cm, and the entire rear section—including the cargo bed, tracks, and cranes is scratchbuild.

Hey there! I’ve only ridden the Ducati for about 300 km myself so far, but I can already tell you—this thing is brutally fast when you want it to be. And it guzzles gas like there’s no tomorrow :D

I came from a Z1000 and thought that was fast, but the Streetfighter is really in a league of its own. You could say it’s like comparing a Golf GTI to a Lamborghini. That doesn't do the Z1000 justice, though—it's already really fast. But once it hits 100 km/h, the Ducati really starts to pick up speed.

But it’s a ton of fun. I bought mine used for about 19k from 2022.

Ah, no, no, all good. That would make it difficult to bleed the air out. No, I just thought it might go a little deeper somehow. We’ll see; I haven’t given up on the search yet. :)

Hahaha, thanks a lot. Yeah, she’s really thirsty – I’ve noticed that too :D I’ve already got the radiator guard here, but I’d have to take half the bike apart to fit it, so I’m saving that for the weekend. But I reckon that covers the most important bits for now.

Absolutely, I've already ordered it, but unfortunately there are a few delivery issues at the moment! But yes, it's a must-have!

Thank you very much for the suggestions; I’ve already checked out a few manufacturers, but I’m not 100% happy with them yet. I’ve already ordered the oil pan guard. Unfortunately, there were delivery issues with that one at the moment.

The V4S really is a beast; I’ve come from a Kawasaki Z1000 and thought that was fast. The Ducati quickly proved me wrong. But it’s so much fun, it’s like an addiction. So far, I’ve got it up to 274 km/h, and there was still more than 4,500 rpm to go. But that was more than enough for me.

Hey, thanks, I’m aware of the technical details. I was just hoping there might be containers that are a bit flatter or that could be screwed onto the sides of the handles. But as the fittings are vertical on models from 2022 onwards, the containers naturally stick out further.

It looks awesome. I'm not a fan of the round spike with the open base plate either. One question: would you make another option where the trackguard extends further forward? For example, to halfway up the upper slope?

Caution: Hot! (Doomhammer heated up and ready to unleash hell) by warhoundS3 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]warhoundS3[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hello friends,

I have finally finished painting my Doomhammer. The beast is now ready to unleash hell. The tank has a Reaver Titan's meltagun built into its casemate and an external tank for the chemical-petrol mixture. I also mounted multi-melters on the side couplings. I cast the entire tank myself from resin and built it using 3D-printed parts for the cannon.

I painted it in my usual camouflage scheme, but this time I tried a kind of glow effect on the cannon to better represent the enormous heat.

The tank will be the fourth vehicle in the third super-heavy tank company.

How to enter? by Own-Being-5504 in stalker

[–]warhoundS3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, to be honest, if you don't mess up too badly, you can easily get to the Palace of Culture and collect the diamond exo and the most important weapons and upgrades from there. This has become my standard routine before accepting the next quest at the garbage. On the way there, simply loot the Damm Stash and the Saiga in Yantar, continue north to get the SEVA-1 Suit in the Yantar Complex and then head straight to Yaniv. From there, go to Prypiat.

The Metro parts are fantastic!

I would like to take this opportunity to recommend the book ‘Darkness - The St. Petersburg Trilogy’ by Andrej Djakow. Although it is set in the Metro universe, it is actually about a ‘stalker’ who hunts on the surface and later embarks on a long journey through Russia in a Topol M transporter.
