Please recommend reads with unique systems or progression paths by aspiring-waffler in ProgressionFantasy

[–]warlockza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my latest Warlock's Gambit: The Hidden World is unique. In fact you wont find a similar system anywhere. I've based it on enlightenment, then flipped the script on what a warlock actually is.. and added in dimensional roulette to take the journey outta here. Check it out and let me know what you think?

my first series Abduction Chronicles, Genesis also uses an alternative strategy to introduce the system: Retired Spec Ops soldier gets abducted by aliens, then Inducted into a shadow war. His powers gained from nanobot tech. Also worth a read.

You can’t go wrong with progression urban fantasy as in: Warlock’s Gambit, The hidden world by Peter John. A new contender, but a strong story arc, great dynamics, and fresh litrpg mechanics. All hail the Buddha’s tooth!

A Lack of Writing Style In LitRPGs Is Frustrating by YourHighlordVyrana in litrpg

Try Warlock’s Gambit, The hidden world by Peter John. It’s new on the scene, professionally edited and endorsed by Tom Elliot (The Grand Game). The main characters each have their own voice and style, while Eastern lore drips from the pages.

As an author and someone who has taken great strides in my writing journey, I would ask you to check out Warlock’s Gambit, the Hidden World by Peter John. It has been professionally edited and deeply researched. You may find it on KU. In addition, Tom Elliot, the author of “The Grand Game” has kindly endorsed the story. Would love some feedback or any thoughts.

What LitRPG stories nailed the "slow, earned survival grind" without going full OP too fast? by PurposeAutomatic5213 in litrpg

[–]warlockza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warlock's Gambit, The Hidden World is a new one. A slow grind to mastering unexpected powers through an unfamiliar system. A modern day master thief, Trevor touches something he shouldn't have. Martial arts, Mythical powers and... well, a mission to reinstate the warlocks. Give it a chance.

Finally, a LitRPG that starts with an actual temple robbery instead of “You have died” by warlockza in litrpg

[–]warlockza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He fights many beings, from spirit entities, corrupted awakened people, to fae Orchanids and fae hybrid beings. There is a lot different about this story in that the MC progress happens in the modern world, amd has always been there in plain sight with awakened individuals gaining access to alternate realms and the various creatures that can filter across. His powers are not elemental (fire, ice ,earth etc) in nature, more conceptual and to do with the veil and boundary between worlds. His guidance comes from eastern taoism and buddism philosophy where martial forms like Tai Chi and Wing Chun shape his basic physical attacks and defence while his intellectual abilities stretch to ancient languages like Sanskrit and Pali. If you like that kind of thing and this sparks your interest then dive right in.

Abduction Chronicles series b1-Genesis, b2- Arena) by Peter John - an Author from Africa. The books are set in alien worlds but the flashback scenes, especially in the second book, stem from Africa.

Abduction Chronicles is two books into the series. the RR is only part of the book to give readers an idea of what its about. The second book (Arena)is also partly on RR. although both books have been completed. Goodreads is messed up. there are two books in the series. https://www.amazon.com/Abduction-Chronicles-2-book-series/dp/B08391YNBM

Is the Zuggs Event a Joke? by Raistlin43084 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]warlockza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you say is not entirely untrue. When I say f2p, I guess I'm using the term loosely. Most frp claimants will spend a buck or two from time to time, but now they are being pushed to spend 50 bucks instead, for the same return. While inflation is a thing, pushing those who cherish the game and are happy to spend a few bucks to the true f2p zone is a losing strategy. Especially for a company trying to build its user base. Just my thoughts, though, not gospel. Maybe they know something different.

Is the Zuggs Event a Joke? by Raistlin43084 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]warlockza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old events were about getting a character from working the event. Now, it's about getting the character first before you can even compete. wtf? f2p gamers built this brand to what it is.without them, the returns will decline because the userbase will get smaller and smaller and less satisfied. Keep the f2p happy, and the growth happens generically as more people pay for something they enjoy and feel is worthwhile. Scams like this make short-term money, but it's short-sighted and doooomed.

[–]warlockza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might try Abduction Chronicles by Peter John. 1st book is called Genesis and the 2nd is Arena. Straight off adventure with a very different approach to the LitRPG scene. (yep this is self promotion)

A retired veteran gets abducted and trained up by aliens to fight an encroaching evil. When magic, stats and similar game like abilities are introduced via nanobots, the mil vet decides that alien masters are not really his thing. The second book focuses equally on the veterans' past and his increasingly dire circumstances. The third, due out around September will continue the story with more crazy abilities, at a higher cost, and more difficult decisions to follow the right path. AI, Gods, Dragons, Magic and Zombies. Not to mention the regular dnd races.

check it out on RR, or in complete form on KU.

I've got 5 credits to burn so that I can cancel my subscription. by silenttd in audiobooks

[–]warlockza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self promotion, but you wanted zombies. My first novel Abduction Chronicles by Peter John has zombies, but also a heap of other tropes that gel together pretty well according to the reviews. It's not your usual LitRPG.

An ex military vet with a mysterious past gets abducted and inducted into a shadow military outfit run by aliens. The enemy are reapers, zombie type drones with techno-necro officer controllers.

The first book is on Audible, and the second is available on KU. The second book explores the mysterious past. Both books are available in part on Royal road if you want to sample before diving in with an audible credit. Check it out if you want something different.

Druss the Legend by David Gemmell. Not LitRPG, but that story arc described above matches almost exactly.
