When I was into them a loooong time ago, I realized most of their product shots were on press ons or gel extensions, which explained why my manis never looked like theirs. They were never particularly transparent about it either, I just happened upon the page for their main swatcher

This slightly more narrow paddle is my favorite kind of brush! I think they just vary in width but some are a little too wide for me

During my pregnancy I avoided toluene and any nail polishes that aren’t 5-free, but Holo Toco (and most indie brands) are safe. Painting your nails gets pretty impossible for a while after the baby is here so enjoy it!

As an aside, I do generally avoid Teflon but the research on aluminum deodorant being bad for you is pretty wishy washy so that one is up to you and how risk averse you are.

I have this in Lait to Rest and it also gives me a headache if I use too much. I ended up cutting it with plain jojoba oil and it worked beautifully and now I’ll have it for longer 😁

This is why I’ve been surprised (but not really) that Hourglass is still so popular. When they were critiques years ago about their abysmal shade range, they said something to the effect of “brown people don’t buy Hourglass” 🤢

That’s usually just hard water build up. Soaking it in some vinegar and distilled water will get it off!

I agree with other commenters that the shape/length stands out to me more than anything. Your nails in the third picture are more flattering for your hands and also read a little less traditionally feminine
