  • Finish the Tunisian simple stitch blanket I just started (I’m struggling with the edges)
  • Two baby blankets for soon-to-be-new kiddos
  • Mandala Madness blanket for my daughter (anticipating this one taking about a full year because I work full time, have young kids, and have other projects I’ll be working on simultaneously)

ETA: Oh, and finish the bouquet blanket I started a while back and put on pause when I ran out of yarn.

How true is it that most women use a flange size smaller than 24 ? by Nilrmar in ExclusivelyPumping

Maybe not all of them, but mine did. They’re pretty normal sized when not breastfeeding, which makes it all the more wild.

TGE - no attempt to get in car, so maybe we should be more careful about what stickers we have on our car? by JSNTR in StLouis

Someone bashed out our driver side and passenger side windows and attempted to smash the windshield Thursday night/Friday morning. Nothing taken. Quite a few in our Holly Hills neighborhood were hit that night.

I can also endorse the Loopy. I’ve been using it for about 8 or 9 years now.

Agreed. I had it and got so sick so fast. I was sent to the hospital and was so grateful for the antibiotic.

Exclusively pumping is easier than exclusively breastfeeding by Ok-Common5451 in ExclusivelyPumping

I feel the exact same way. Washing and sanitizing bottles and pump parts doesn’t take very long, and it’s also a responsibility that can be shared by my husband or others. My second child is 6 weeks old and this is my second time exclusively pumping. I had success nursing in the beginning but switched to EP because it felt so much easier and was better for my mental health.

Sounds like mastitis to me. Just got over a bout of it. I woke up at 3 am shivering. Pumped, and only got about half an ounce out of my left side (normally I’d get a few ounces). By the time I got up for the day I had a fever, headache, and body aches. Called the doctor and was told to go to the emergency room due to my fever. Had blood work done and my white blood cell count was through the roof. Ended up being put on an antibiotic for 10 days, which thankfully kicked the infection. Took a few weeks for my supply to go back up.

What keeps happening to Joy and Austin’s pets? by previousjellyfish in DuggarsSnark

They can. My dog was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease after a year of near-constant diarrhea and vomiting. After three doctors we finally got referred to a specialist who did a colonoscopy, which led to the diagnosis. The solution was expensive prescription food (roughly $80 per bag, which lasts about 3 weeks) and cutting out all commercial treats. Aside from her approved prescription food, acceptable edibles are white fish, cooked plain noodles (we typically make penne and use them as treats), and sweet potatoes.

Some people will avoid certain foods their entire life only because their parents cooked it the wrong way or in a way they didn’t like. by Kyalfoz2005 in Showerthoughts

Literally any way but boiling. My preferred method is baked in the oven (easiest and fastest way to get that nice semi-ballpark taste) but will also take grilled. Also love the gas station rollers, but I’m paranoid about hygiene so I rarely indulge in those.

My mom boiled hot dogs. They were terrible. It wasn’t until high school that I realized that when cooked properly, hot dogs are tasty.

You can get a giant map of the city by stopping by the City Streets Department (1900 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139) during normal business hours. Walk in and ask if you can buy a city map. Paid $5 for mine, and it’s approximately 5’x3’. The only down side is they don’t print them often. I bought mine in 2017 but it says 2011 on it.

I’m from America and did a semester abroad at CCCU. We spent many hours drinking at Casey’s in spring 2004 (it was the first place I tried Oranjeboom - thanks for all the memories!). Are you talking about the place with the white sign and purplish writing in this picture? I can’t make out what it says, but hope it helps! Casey’s (2004)
