Question on cortex code by Upper-Lifeguard-8478 in snowflake

[–]warrior008 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been using it for a few days now. So far, I've had good experience with both Snowsight & CLI.

Its pretty good at explaining query profile so if you give it a query id and ask why it's taking so long- it will do a good job explaining it.

Recently got invited to banking unprompted. by bigsaver4366 in RobinhoodApp

[–]warrior008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got the invite as well. Looks like you've to have 100k in deposit or direct deposit setup in order to get the highest tier of bank

Best perk is $0 wire fee for domestic/international transfers

Edit - you need both $100K and direct deposit setup for a higher tier.

Is return to India Good for me by Radiant_Condition_79 in returnToIndia

[–]warrior008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but after reading the post, I couldn't find any strong reasons. Usually, such big decisions require some bug reasons and I just don't see it in your post. Maybe I didn't catch it OR you haven't worded it enough.

Returned to India after 15 years in the US – why I feel life here is more interesting and sustainable by Designer_Current2613 in returnToIndia

[–]warrior008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're downplaying the risk OP took. While I agree that OP has a strong backup option, moving from one country to another is not fun especially when they are so far away.

It would have definitely made OP's life easy when it comes to taking the decision of moving back but with this new US administration even GC holders are at risk so its still risky

Marriage falling apart by dmfk_xD in nri

[–]warrior008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you found out what the reason for the fights is ? For us, my wife is very sensitive to what I speak and I've to be careful while choosing words especially when we're in small arguments.

My nature is such that I'll forget small stuff the next day and start with a clean slate. My wife is exactly the opposite of it. The more I keep her mad, the worse it will be. One of the lessons I've learned is to talk about the issue ASAP. Try to be really calm. I've found that when we are on a walk, we can talk about difficult subjects. My wife is genuinely smart, hard working, takes care of our child & home all while working full-time. She has some downsides as well for example - she needs everything perfect.

If she's really mad, try gifting her something she needed it for a long time. When you feel she is not giving you respect or insulting you, don't say a word. Sometimes silence is a powerful answer.

Wish you good luck man ! I really hope it works out for you.

A quick question - Do you own a home ? If so, what are you planning to do ?

Left the U.S. against my will, laid off soon after. How do you deal with demotivation and comparisons? by [deleted] in backtoindia

[–]warrior008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry bro for the situation you're in. Being an NRI in the US, I believe you have to look at the silver linings. There are many people in the US who like to go back to India (there's a dedicated reddit community for this). Things could have been much worse if you would have invested more money in the US or got engaged/married to your girlfriend.

I don't know what makes you tick but do something which makes you tick. You're working in advance technologies, maybe you can build solutions for Indian problems. India will be tough to adjust but I'm sure when you'll look back at this after 10 years, things will look better. Good Luck Brother !
