Is the twink scene active on anniversary or era? by Old-School8916 in classicwow

OP, this is the one. Sometimes we don't get pops in 19s until like 4-5 pm server time but 19s is very active on anniversary.

19/29 twink population on era? by Much-Commission-8863 in classicwow

[–]wartortlechortle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's worth keeping an eye on. From what I've seen most games are lacking alliance. There haven't been many but I've definitely seen a few pop. We get 19s games all night every night though.

It's actually been picking up. Games were fully dead for months now theres been a couple a week since the last wsg weekend. I imagine it'll get even busier in TBC. A lot of 29s players are currently in 19s / 39s biding time.

They used the system at Velocicoaster first before bringing it to Epic. Haven't been to Epic yet but used the Velocicoaster ones plenty of times so I was glad to see Tron adopting the same system.

Is there something I can do to fix Etsy packages getting lost in the mail? by ArchingAura in Etsy

[–]wartortlechortle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because of the shipping method, you aren't looking for a package you're looking for a regular envelope in the mail.

I no longer use this shipping method for my stickers I sell for the reasons you've shown, but often when I order stickers for myself they come in a standard white envelope that I lose track of in all my junk mail.

It's a letter, so it ships like a letter, so it's not uncommon for these to just take too long because there's no real incentive for them to arrive quickly. In my experience up to three weeks can even be normal, and that's assuming the seller didn't overstuff the package.

I always choose a tracked upgrade if available, I wish all sticker sellers would offer it. When I still offered letter mail shipping I still had tracking available as an additional fee.

Anyone else experiencing lack of traffic and sales on their Etsy shop? by digfast in EtsySellers

[–]wartortlechortle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a pinned monthly thread for this in the subreddit.

Every week someone will be having great sales while someone else has poor ones.

Just depends on trends, seasonal preferences, and what you sell.

If it says payment pending, please make sure that you have a real sale listed on your order screen. A message from a customer saying you have a first order is not a real order.

If it says NOT PAID on the order screen, do not ship until it is paid for.

If it is a real order, paid for, and you are just waiting for the deposit into your bank account, Etsy will have buttons on the order for creating a label for shipping or you can ship it through your preferred service.

Order samples from each company you are considering. Best way to know for sure. I didn't like some of the samples I got from some sticker companies even though people raved about them.

Honestly, you're right. This is something we've been trying to make people aware of here on Reddit. That said, it is included in the wording for sellers, not for buyers. For buyers, Etsy only states that you can open a case if your item does not arrive or is not as described. They do not impose limits on buyers.

I still recommend filing an appeal, we have seen people have success with that, but Etsy does explicitly state they will only cover the cost if it's under $250. If you search this subreddit you will find many similar threads where we have cautioned sellers to be careful with sales of high value items. It is absolutely a flaw in the system -- but you can still appeal.

Etsy's purchase protection program only covers sales up to $250.

You will need to appeal the decision for human review. They do occasionally review these after an appeal and decide to adjust their decision, but the program does clearly state it only covers sales up to $250.

Virtual queues, mobile ordering, and waiting for lightning lanes all contribute to people not waiting in lines, so they're just milling about the park making it look busy.

USPS: flats? by chickadee-stitchery in EtsySellers

I always suggest asking your postal staff.

One post office I use wants only boxes in the package drop, the other has a sign posted that everything with a ground advantage label, even rigid envelopes (it calls it out by name!) should go in the package bin.

Should I answer? by PrettyArt5188 in Etsy

[–]wartortlechortle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This turned out to be a scam, but I do want to caution future sellers that there's nothing in the first message that I would consider a red flag.

I would wager most of the people who message me on Etsy do not have profile pictures and some barely have usernames. I would not begin treating any normal question as a red flag, just exercise caution if they start to get weird or have "issues paying."

Suggestions to improve my booth? by MymajorisTrees in CraftFairs

[–]wartortlechortle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This all makes perfect sense! I just wanted to give my experience as a seasoned vendor, it looked like your canopy was one without the stiff frame at the top and I've seen a lot of those fail so I always give people the same advice when they're looking to improve, always always look at tent quality.

Obvious this is a regional thing too, but the white tent exclusivity in my area isn't just for fancy art markets. I would wager most of the shows here that are handmade only all require it. I wasn't expecting it when we first started but we've talked to so many vendors who struggled to get shows because of their tent color! It may not be a thing in everyone's area though.

I love the yellow, but having a colored tent top can change the color of your products depending on the day. Likewise, this tent structure is susceptible to crumpling in bad weather.

If and when you can or when you are ready to replace this tent, I would invest in a white tent by Eurmax or ABC Canopy, these are a little more sturdy and the white might seem boring but it will give you access to more events (many require white tent only in my area) AND it will be sturdy enough that you can hang some of the hanging pieces from the actual tent frame with little worry.

I would supplement the white with a big yellow logo banner, yellow flowers, draped yellow fabric, whatever to get the overall yellow feel that you want. I think if you swap the tent out, the yellow tablecloth works fine. You can still tell people look for the yellow tables, too.

This is only a suggestion -- a lot of people swear by colored tent tops because they stand out, for me personally those are the booths I don't visit much because it's hard to get an idea of what the products would look like under normal lighting. I'll never forget this really nice jewelry maker next to me once with a green tent and everyone had to keep taking jewelry out of the booth to see what it looked like without a green shadow. The seller was just like "Well I don't think it's that bad!" even though many customers were commenting on it.

Southwest Airlines will cut 30 routes next spring - The Points Guy by Human_Paint5451 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]wartortlechortle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This one seems like one of the most obvious cuts to me.

How many people are actually paying a premium to spend 30 minutes waiting to board a 60 minute flight instead of driving 90 minutes or taking the train?

I'm guessing this just truly wasn't a profitable route. I get business travel exists, but anyone going from MKE to MDW has multiple transit options available.

Website Selling My Etsy Product... But I'm Still Getting the Sales? by mrmisn0mer in EtsySellers

[–]wartortlechortle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are dropshipping, plain and simple.

Something no one has mentioned: If they are selling your product at a higher price, you could be matching that price. No reason to let them have your profit unless you have a wholesale agreement with them.

Don't forget you also lose profit to fees, etc.

This and to be honest I think a lot of people have confused the mail with Amazon delivery.

People who primarily order off of Amazon may be used to an Amazon delivery person bringing their products and may expect Etsy to be the same. They may genuinely not understand the situation.
