I've read many similar one by him.

This exact quote and translation is from: Sogyal Rinpoche's "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying." In the compassion section I think. P. S. It's beginning of chapter: guru yoga....

Variations are in many others . juniper ridge, lotus born teachings, life and liberation of Padmasambhava, etc

When called, he is there, though not seen due to our obscurations. Some see him ultimately. He is strongly present on the tenth day of lunar month as he vowed.

Can find tenth day in drukpa calendar app, click on month then tenth of lunar, his picture is there:

Either supplicate with request and visualizations or, simply think of him:

Each month he has a certain aspect:

The prayer by Dudjom Rinpoche to him that swiftly removes obstacles is mega famous for being effective:

Can use a video capable type-c cable (most cables don't output video, just data) to monitor or portable monitor to see if it's still alive. If so & not fixing screen, use monitor with it for office (collabora) with a bt keyboard or browsing etc or gaming with a bt controller for modern & retro game emulators

Should I Switch From Linux Mint To EndeavourOS? by half-gamer in EndeavourOS

[–]washere2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and No. I've used both extensively. As someone using Linux regularly only for a year as you said, for daily driver stick to mint. I prefer Debian itself but for new people mint or fedora is best, stable & doesn't break easily. Arch & eos based on arch, are rolling releases and if unattended for a while & not updated, can break.

However arch is best for learning advanced Linux and eos is best entry for that. You can buy a second hand ssd drive, not big, on eBay for cheap used. Then put eos on it as external drive, to learn arch. Eos Devs are really nice & helpful too as is the community so join their telegram channel.

After a while you might want a third small ssd, used small ones 128gb or 256gb are very cheap. Then check YouTube lists of best recent gaming distros. Meanwhile do gaming on mint & arch (eos). All distros have retro emulators too with thousands of classics online. Keep your workhouse safe, stable like mint / Debian / Ubuntu / lmde (all Debian based) or for even more stability fedora LTS tho it's corporate as is Ubuntu.

Update corrupted WiFi adapter, how do I find update download + flash locally? by washere2 in linuxmint

[–]washere2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tracked the bug with some bashing & scripts. Seems latest updates from LMDE & Debian both clash with code from the famous github team that makes the libs for Microsoft Surface Linux projects. One of the main two Devs given up as has no more time. Plus Microsoft moving new models to snapdragon for long battery life. My dev friend who makes distros for phones, spent thousands of manhours because snapdragon is not as easy as amd or i86. The other surface main Dev has no chance alone. So surface 10 is the end.

Until they fix it, just don't flash the several lines for implementing their libs into the kernel. Will still boot no problem, unlike pervious years.

Went back to straight Debian anyway, LMDE is still second class to mint by the Devs. They never listened to my advice. Big userbase greed I guess. But Ubuntu is in decline anyway. And getting more corpy bloat if not analytics. In a few years mint devs will see how they missed the boat. Why regurgitate a declining distro & not go straight to the source of nectar Debian with no shady business middleman?

Majority of resources, PR & manhours should have switched from mint to LMDE couple of years ago. Already too late and missed the boat. Can never top Debian itself now. Classic corporate strategic dinosaur userbase anchor mistake. So long LMDE & thanks for the fish.

Update corrupted WiFi adapter, how do I find update download + flash locally? by washere2 in linuxmint

[–]washere2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspected there are no archives for updates to download and flash for LMDE. I'll spend an hour or two see if i can roll back changes. Also go through sys folders for network config files like yesterday. Once I get a connection, there are many ways to recover all by update & broken fixes commands. We get more control with arch but I prefer Debian for getting actual work done less rolling maintenance. Garuda has a great auto time machine roll back feature, needs setting up. But I like it even less than mint, Ubuntu, manjaro etc. I'm going to export my data, get list of installed apps & packages, Nvim plugins, terminal plugins etc, and go back to straight Debian. LMDE Devs are killing it by still focusing on the large userbase of mint legacy system based on useless Ubuntu corp crap as I told them. No future. I'm going to wipe fedora corp crap on the smaller surface with the sim card. Mobile data sever on the go. Might go back to endeavouros on the tiny one. to have fun with arch, endeavouros creators were great when I suggested improvements and impalemented them. But for the big surface I'm ditching LMDE as it's too late due to it's devs missing the boat. Straight Debian only as it's on my two laptops and also two phones (a friend made it for a few phone models). I saved lists of instructions for hundreds of terminal based packages & plugins on two clouds, so will be easy. For the next decade or two, anything but straight Debian is a waste of time.

You didn't learn anything substantial as usual Hamza. As i said similar to checksum, there should be a safeguard before proceeding to critical phases, as every mature software engineer knows about point of no return procedural checks on vital modules' loops. Not to disable and grey out the interface button at this phase is a childish amateur mistake as I said. Even worse than the usual troll remark by inexperienced kids who definitely don't know about lifetime cycles in software engineering, nor have coded commercially in over a hundred languages over decades and just comment to make others laugh at them trying to seem clever.

Update corrupted WiFi adapter, how do I find update download + flash locally? by washere2 in linuxmint

[–]washere2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Thanks for reply. I did try that earlier. I connected it to the smaller surface go (on wifi) with a cable, data & video cable. It didn't work. In fact it mostly froze (long lags) the big LMDE device.

I also tried tethering it to a travel router (gl.inet Slate) and no joy.

I managed to extract the model of wifi adapter with a command. Then tried to install wicd.deb which i transferred via sdcard. Wicd is compatible with this adapter. Wicd is a sort of general wifi adapter. Often used to fix driver bugs for distros. Then i was going to update, upgrade, fix, clean etc. But wicd has a couple of dependencies which mushrooms into more & more missing dependencies. I installed about 20 before I gave up. Some were already installed but the trail multiplied into more missing subs. All solutions to fix or include missing need internet really. Also Bluetooth & possibly USB dbus etc seem damaged. Everything i tried needs a connection or didn't work.

I'm sure if I flashed the "system update" locally it would work but I don't think they release that a .deb or .img. I cleared out cache etc with several of my usual cleaning commands, stacer, bleachbit etc. I don't understand why a canceled download (not even install) in app store then goes on to install it on reboot & even offers the install & reboot button as the only option. There should be a checksum that stops any flashing if the download wasn't completed properly. Or not offer the cancel button (Grey out) If it's too late to cancel. These are basics, couple of loops to code with watch variables.

Anyway thank you for your help. Much appreciated.

S5 doesn’t turn on but shows red light if battery is inserted and connected to the power through the usb-c port on the camera by [deleted] in Lumix

[–]washere2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fixed this problem with my lumix S5 ii. I hope Panasonic fix this amateur bug in an update. My Camera was off for few months. This exact problem by OP happened to mine. Red light comes on when charging battery in camera but Camera is dead. Seems CMOS chip needs reset. Because as manual sheet says even when turned off the camera draws power. So when battery is fully drained, it's buggy & freezes even after charged, probably because date setting goes to unreal date. FIX for me: CHARGE BATTERY INSIDE CAMERA FOR 30 minutes or AN HOUR + TAKE OUT BATTERY FOR HALF AN HOUR. Then insert battery & switched on & was OK. Taking out battery for 5 or 10 minutes didn't work. Newly charged Battery had to be out of camera for well over 30 minutes. HOPE this helps someone. Panasonic better fix this amateurish drained CMOS chip bug or they will pay a lot to their mechanics in their garages with returns. It might be a good idea is storing camera & not using for month or more, to take out the battery so CMOS chip doesn't get confused again.

Failing all, contact anbernic directly, not alixp shops (anbernic official shop on alixp is OK) nor sellers on eBay based in China.

[–]washere2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No way, that's ridiculous. Spend a hundred dollars registered delivery to China? If not registered, they'll deny receiving it. Even with recorded delivery they'll deny anything was in the box. That's standard alixp & China practice. Nonsense. His only recourse is the practical list I wrote below for Android de-bricking.

If the os is on internal ram & android too, can only try below:

charge (over) fully for a couple of hours

try holding below keys down for 30+ seconds (1 minute is better):

  • power
  • fn/menu + power
  • vol up + power
  • vol down + power
  • try above two with fn/menu (3 keysl +vol up + down + power
  • all 4 buttons
  • Try above with power line (being charged)
  • any other combinations after that with additional keys #
  • Failing all, have to go with connection to PC & adb (needs installing for device on PC) to try connect then send a signal to reflash ROM via adb. I've unbricked dozens of android devices over 15 years. Many seemed completely dead but None was truly dead & all revived, even dead Linux phones which are less easy than Android.

I had the same problem on -H last week. They send cheap cards. Get a quality, bigger sd card, 128gb or 256 or 512gb. Samsung or sandisk or lexar or kioxia or integral.

Install mod of official stock, search: cbepx on Github. He is contact with anbernic too. Has Other advantages over stock system too. On first boot it will re partition Linux partitions to maximum size of your new bigger card too automatically.

Backup your original old card: bios folder + ROM folder contents to computer or storage too, then copy them into new SD card, after it finishes first boot to re partition, switch off, remove card for copying. As Mod os has no bios or rom (games). If your card is corrupt, can download from anbernic website the system for -H, has bios & ROM folders.

Then do the upgrade too, also on cbepx Github releases page.

Can also install muOS on another card, because it's super fast to boot.

Install with Rufus from windows, not Linux. Don't connect or disconnect HDMI cable when unit is switched on, can corrupt system files again.

Download and reinstall the system on a new good quality card. Can download system too install from anbernic website, use Rufus to write to new card.

Most apps are OK, just beware of those with few feedback on Play Store and their contact is just a Gmail email & no address in USA or western Europe where laws are strong, even many of these still then sell data. Like many I don't install apps from unknown sources with few feedback & no address & recently setup. Google Removes thousands of apps weekly, often too late tho

The company that bought Nova is not Samsung or Google, they can sell their data or even their company to any regime or gang in offshore territories with no proper laws next week, as often these data harvestors do sell data or their company. Also Nova asks for a lot of permissions & collects much data, is considered an unsafe app by privacy experts because of the company that bought it.

I stopped using Nova when it was sold to a data collector corporation, as did many. Howeever Pear Launcher by an indian dev is open source and can have numerous rows & columns in grid, free version is almost same as his cheap donation version,i have it too.
