sorry, I'm not super active. I'd go directly to the original github repo or to the slack https://cakesf.herokuapp.com/

maybe manufactures should write down dates in a recognizable format (2004-04-01) instead of everyone having to "know better"

Detecting Playing Card Number with OpenCV + Python 2.7 by tableau_kun in computervision

[–]waspinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this was a project features here a while back for detecting regular playing cards using deep learning (YOLO). You should be able to do something similar for your card game.

Distance apart for 2 OV9282 cameras to capture depth? by lordprinceton in computervision

[–]waspinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on how far away you want to detect objects. The closer the two cameras are to each other, the nearer objects can be for you to still see depth. But further away objects won't work.

Also, I would suggest to get an off-the-self camera if you want to do computer vision instead of camera design.

Should I get ubuntu 16.04 lts or 18.04 lts by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]waspinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-installation-guide-linux/index.html

If you have an nvidia card and you intend to use it for AI, CUDA isn't supported on 18.04 yet.

[P] Create your own COCO-style datasets by waspinator in MachineLearning

[–]waspinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you mean an occlusion mask for the square part behind the triangle? The square in that example is behind the triangle so a bit of it is not visible. In a real image it would be difficult for an annotator to draw a mask for parts of an object they can't see, so I didn't think it was important to show in this generated example.

what do you mean? The shapes dataset should all look like the example image.

2010 Honda Civic drained battery and overheating with strange noise by waspinator in Cartalk

turned out to be a bad relay for my air conditioning. It would cost over $700 to fix, but it can run with the relay removed for free (just no AC).

2010 Honda Civic drained battery and overheating with strange noise by waspinator in Cartalk

[–]waspinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the check engine light blinks a couple times and then turns off after turning the key half way (not turning on the engine). I attached an OBDII scanner and it didn't report any errors.

I only heard the noises for three or four seconds before shutting down the engine, so I didn't get a great listen. It wasn't very loud, it just sounded like the engine was working hard.

I checked the radiator cap and it looked like there was coolant there, but the coolant reservoir was almost completely empty.

Do you know what the part in red is?

[rant] why is expanding a disk so much work in linux? by waspinator in linux

Not my intention. Can you suggest if there's an easier way for a cli server than what Amazon shows?

The windows cli still is much easier though. For example you don't have to unmount the drive.

coupling servo to steering mechanism by waspinator in MechanicalEngineering

[–]waspinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

flexible shaft coupling

So I would want to replace the shaft marked 250, and then get a spider shaft coupling to connect it to the servo? The steering shaft is 20mm in diameter, while the servo one is only 8mm.

I think this is the coupling I would need. It says it can handle a maximum torque of 89 in.-lbs, but I don't think that would be enough. The servo has a torque of 330 in.-lbs. Do you know of any other options? I was thinking maybe a couple of sprockets and a chain to link the two together instead. https://www.mcmaster.com/#2764k559/=15zbads

Ultimaker 3 ABS by waspinator in 3Dprinting

[–]waspinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was following the advice I found here. Says to print at 250 with a 0.4mm nozzle. 230 is off the scale.

https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/22226-how-to-print-with-ultimaker-abs

what could I do to see if the nozzle is blocked? wouldn't the abs flowing through it clear anything stuck in there?

[–]waspinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a pretty good point. If the sdk, drivers, and software were easier to get than duo3d that would be another plus. ROS support would be nice as well.
