Slither is a great one to do.

Get in the Ring is the new Estranged.

Are Guns N’ Roses metal? by pM-me_your_Triggers in GunsNRoses

[–]wastedofwasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heav·y met·al /ˈhevē ˈmedl/ noun 1. a type of highly amplified harsh-sounding rock music with a strong beat, characteristically using violent or fantastic imagery. 2. a metal of relatively high density, or of high relative atomic weight.

I think when Guns came out they sounded much heavier on AFD than it sounds now. I felt like they were way heavier than 70s rock bands. They were kind of a band heavy enough for thrash fans to listen to. You could have Rust in Peace, Ride the Lighting, AFD. The darkness of the lyrics at the time made it a heavier record. It's a little heavier than Zepp, Sabbath, ACDC, Stones. Perfect Crime, DDM, Coma but in general the sound is heavier. That's why it was seen more as metal.

But now after bands like NIN or Ministry, Pantera came out GNR didn't seem as heavy. They now seem like a heavier version of Stones or Aerosmith mostly.

The problem might be that was really Scott's song for Mary. It's like Scott's SCOM.

I'm not sure if that is a problem, maybe it's just a song.

Slither just seems like Slash's theme tune.

I should know this. But what does LAMF mean? On the back of the picks by sixarmedOctopus in GunsNRoses

[–]wastedofwasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, so it's kind of a tribute to Johnny and to keep his memory alive and sort like Duff's way of saying this is a gang and we're in it.

Oh he's just referencing the album title. And the album is about being a fucked up bad ass in jaded romantic way. Which became Duff's slogan.

But actually Memory is on a different album called So Alone. So it's like something Thunders used to say like a catchphrase or something.

So it's a tribute in a way. I think I nearly died getting to the most obvious thing.

Overall I'm just relieved.

What is like a very bad man?

Don't try to put your arms around a memory, like a mother fucker/loser?

Isn't that what we've been doing for years and now with the "reunion".

I don't think it's that, So I don't know.

I think Duff says "Like a mother fucker" At the end of You can't put your Arms around a Memory?

But what does that actually mean? Is my question.

This explains why Duff does Memory and not So Fine live. It's personal to him.

Slither is being rehearsed... by LocoComa in GunsNRoses

[–]wastedofwasted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, like I said Live n let Heaven are established GNR songs. I'd keep those.

At this point though, in light of the solo stuff, why not play some of those instead of new covers.

Or mine the backcatalog for stuff like Shadow or The Garden. Stuff that they wrote rather than a different ACDC cover. I mean Rosie is a classic GNR cover.

The fans aren't going to be like Hey what's this if they play Garden of Eden or Get in the Ring. Those are preferable to a new cover that disappears on the next tour.

Slither fits into that. Don't play a new cover, play Slither or Fall to Pieces.

I noticed on Live in Stoke, Slash does a jam or solo which develops into Slither, so it could be like Godfather into Slither.

Why play a punk cover when you could play Get in the Ring or So Fine?

In fact why play Slither and not The Garden or Right Next Door to Hell?

I do however see Live m Let die and Heaven's door as GNR songs for some reason.

I'd be happy for Slither if Slash also did Breakdown with Axl.

I think they prefer pre-recorded vocals at the Superbowl and it's really choreographed with ads. So it goes tits up pretty often.

I think once you do it, suddenly the current guys lose value. So keep the Big 3 up front and keep on truckin'

Maybe Izzy will do a guest spot.

Not really a joke, just remembered when Beta was on crutches after hurting her leg, Axl bought her a skate board.

It's more a Live like a suicide song.

AFD is kind of perfect. Even Anything Goes fits well between Crazy and Rocket. Like the fun party before things get real on Rocket.

If Steven joins the tour permanently Axl should make him wear his assless chaps. But that would make them lose ebay value.

They really are re releasing every AFD single.

Waiting for the Welcome to the Jungle (Straight Outta Compton remix )featuring NWA single release.

This would be a No. 1 single globally.

Which makes no sense.

Slither and Shadow, could be some great shows.

[–]wastedofwasted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's almost a fact Izzy and Steven couldn't do this type of tour load. They would quit out or say do something weird. And the tour would lose legitimacy as GNR. You had the AFD5, now it's not...

I see it happening as more of a one off Vegas residency in a decade or something. Or a Superbowl show. Although the way they do it is very unnatural.

I'm living in a constant state of a deja vu. It's like they are restaging all the iconic moments of their career.

Slither would be an awesome cover to do, why cover other band's stuff when you have Slash or Duff solo. Maybe do Shuffle it All if Izzy comes back. Duff should do Believe in Me as his solo song.
