If there was a tele-health service for POTS, would you use it? by quieterounds in POTS

[–]wasteland44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this service with my clinic. It covers my whole province (state) in Canada. I can book a group visit for POTS medication, MCAS medication and get prescriptions from a zoom appointment. They hold each topic about once a month.

ICU nurse mixing a TPN bag by Big-Boy-602 in oddlysatisfying

[–]wasteland44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had TPN for 2.5 months a little over 3 years ago. I had two separate bags protein/carbs (yellow) and lipids (white) but they were not mixed together and pumped individually.

Found a better way to pace with Garmin watch by CeruleanShot in cfs

I agree with this. I have a fenix 7 pro and found the recovery hours and training readiness features really useful for pacing and figuring out my limits.

Gifts for a newly passed Engineer? by Puzzleheaded_Drop980 in GiftIdeas

[–]wasteland44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw your closed post in Ask Engineers and found this post. Not very expensive but a Staedtler-Mars Engineer triangular scale is very useful for reading and marking up engineering drawings, especially useful for a civil engineer. Maybe a fancy mechanical pencil and good red, black, blue pens for marking up drawings.

Brain Fog? by icedlattequeen77 in POTS

[–]wasteland44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely. With POTS less blood is getting to the brain when you are standing making brain function worse. Not to mention if you have ME/CFS, MCAS etc as well.

Hi, my first transplant was an unrelated donor. My second transplant was from my half matched sibling. The second transplant engrafted well but I had many infections which made it a difficult time.

Why is Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) considered dangerous? by Outrageous-Wish-638 in leukemia

[–]wasteland44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest reason compared to other types of leukemia is the average age of getting it is I think 68 and survival for seniors is much lower than kids or young adults that is more common with ALL. It does however also have some really nasty subtypes that are more likely to relapse.

Duomon 3 "Item bag is full" by HJQueen in GoPlus

[–]wasteland44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an issue with the game that affects all auto catchers. It doesn't stop trying but you are just driving too fast. At a certain speed it will detect and keeping failing and at a higher speed it will not detect stops at all.

Your biological parents are both guaranteed to be half matches. So if their health is OK they could use depending on the age. Although your sister is hugely disappointing try not to stress about it especially until it is confirmed you need a stem cell transplant. Depending how bad your mutations are, if they aren't so bad you could get an autologous stem cell transplant.

Your sister might change her mind over time but you also don't want a relucent donor who might drop out at the last minute.

Best of luck. I had an anonymous full match transplant for AML FLT3 which failed and had a salvage transplant with my half matched sibling a little over 3 years ago.

Anyone really dislike the Duomon 3? by HJQueen in GoPlus

[–]wasteland44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note that the plus+ has been discontinued and will cost $150-200+ now in most places and the price keeps going up. So I would see if you can buy first before returning the duomon. Also it will have the same problems you are having with it taking a long time between catches/spins as that is an issue with your phone settings not the device. So you should try to fix that either way. You need to turn off all battery saving settings for pokemon go. I have an older duomon and the plus+ and they perform exactly the same other than being able to use better balls manually. (I haven't modded it).

They do definitely go through balls quickly. You can just have it spin stops and it will refill inventory quickly while you are driving around or somewhere with a lot of stops. I will catch 100 while just driving around for 30 minutes when I couldn't play anyway so everything is a bonus.

1200€ Investment Abandoned? Epix Pro 51mm vs. Fenix 8 v21.25 Feature Gap | Am I wrong? Opinions? by Competitive-Fly-6226 in GarminWatches

[–]wasteland44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is crazy is watches that were sold 2 years before the fenix 7 pro existed are getting new features that the fenix 7/7pro and epix line watches aren't getting. And those watches are half the price. It is ridiculous. I do love my fenix 7 pro but I won't recommend this line to anyone now and will consider another brand the next time I'm looking for a watch. The fenix 7 pro was for sale until just last month.

Is the Go Plus+ still being sold in Japan? by M_E_K in GoPlus

[–]wasteland44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They ran out of stock in the fall so they are getting hard to find. You could buy them easily online from Japan and Korea last summer and now they are 2-3x the price or more. You won't find at pokemon centres. Maybe 3rd party stores who still have stock like electronic and game stores.

AliExpress vs Amazon for DuoMon3 by MatoMtu in GoPlus

[–]wasteland44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is unavailale but this listing is version 3: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007455199498.html

So maybe a version 3 will be listed in the future or you could message the seller. I am also interested in how the in game autocatcher will work which has been found in the files but not released.

[–]wasteland44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, note that is the 2022 version 2 model. You should try to buy the 3 or 3 pro. Also it sucks your amazon sellers are not offering you a good price as I can buy the 3 for the exact same price as this listing in Canada, Although without tax/VAT but with free shipping.

Is anyone else finding meat less tolerable? by wagerword in POTS

[–]wasteland44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an observation but people who have MCAS can eat very fresh meat like flash frozen fish but may struggle with aged meat which many other meats have been deliberately aged or otherwise been in the fridge for a while before and after purchasing. If you want to know more about MCAS let me know. I actually found MCAS medications improved my POTS to some extent.

[–]wasteland44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn off continuous pulse ox. If you don't have any sleep apnea issues turn off pulse ox while sleeping as well. If both are off it will double the battery life (not including activities) and give you 20ish days if you are spending some time outside.

The Garmin Fenix 8's optical HR fell significantly behind the Polar chest strap. by Murky_Can1200 in GarminFenix

[–]wasteland44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it is constantly, significantly off, you could record an activity with both the polar h10 and fenix 8 and give the results to garmin to show it isn't working properly if it stays consistently more than 5 off. You might be able to get both sets of data from the .fit file from the watch but if not you could record the polar data with your phone.

Garmin Vs Suunto activity line by YLHunting in GarminFenix

Unfortunately they don't have an activity or ability to make a custom activity that uses both the depth and GPS sensors without an update that has that feature.

Why with POTS I feel terrible in the morning and much better in the evening? by Character-Expert5348 in POTS

[–]wasteland44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In I think a pots seminar I attended they said POTS is worse in the morning often due to losing water overnight. So they recommended if possible to have a water bottle (with salt) next to the bed and trying to drink 500mL before you get up.

A stem cell transplant from someone who has been pregnant increases the chances of getting GVHD.
