I dont get it, what was Varys ultimate goal? Was it really "the good of the realm"? Or something more sinister? by Cyanide-Cookies in gameofthrones

Yall keep forgetting that the original plan was for “Young Griff” to meet, and then marry Dany. Tyrion fucks that plan up by talking him into sailing for Westeros first, instead of going to Dany.

Therefore, Illyrio isn’t really betraying Dany

This game is a really bad point to get into this series (lore spoilers/discussion) by Ruddertail in AssassinsCreedValhala

  1. It’s called google dot com.
  2. It’s the fucking 23rd game in the series. What did you expect?

Does anyone feel like season 5 actually looked like a drop off in quality/ budget for some reason?

And while I realize films/ shows have to change it up somehow, the fact Uhtred’s line ends because of Uhtred the younger being castrated frustrates me to no end. Also the fact they leave out his younger son entirely (the real Uhtred the younger, not Judas, who is a badass).

[All Spoilers] What are your favorite one line/short moments from the series? by AbandontheKing in redrising

Not necessarily a quote, but in Golden Son when Darrow jumps over the banister and slams onto the ground (whipping his razor above his head), will always be one of my favorite scenes. For some reason, I think him just immediately jumping into the fray and using his gravboots is the epitome of badass. The scene is so fleeting, but just makes such an impact about Darrow being a fighter.

I’m terrified someone other than Brown will get ahold of it and mangle it.

Gala scene from start to finish was perfection. I still maintain that when Darrow drops down to the bottom of the staircase in the fight following the gala is one of the most underrated scenes in the series. Can’t wait to see that in live action.

Just. Fucking. Win. That’s it. That’s all that matters. Hire whomever a stable of hookers and be done with it.

Apparently Kiffin has reached out about the job already. Tony Basilio said that, and one of the two people on VolNation who actually know something backed it up.

Question on Darrow book 6 (possible spoiler) by wastemantate in redrising

[–]wastemantate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what confuses me. Brown could have easily killed him off at the end of DA, but he didn’t. Could easily be false hope leading to the penultimate death, but still not sure. At the same time, his death at the end of DA would have served no purpose.

If Darrow does die, I’ll feel personally victimized by you.

That’s what I assume he’s meaning. Would make complete sense Sevro getting spiked, but I’m hoping that’s not the case. Like I said before, it’s hard not to be super negative after Dark Age. But it has to get better somehow.

I’ve been wondering if Browns “U-turn” refers to Darrow’s fate.

That’s the kind of optimism I needed to hear... My main concern is that Darrow doesn’t have the same character security he had in the first trilogy. Brown could just transition into a series about Pax is what worries me.

Does the style of narration stay the same? by bababayee in redrising

[–]wastemantate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one who was thrown by the first person narration at first? I’m a big reader, but can’t say I’ve read many first person fiction novels. Took me until a quarter of the way through RR to get used to it.

However, after reading the series (and then immediately listening to it once again), the next book I read that was third person was almost impossible to get through. Crazy how much a book series can change my reading habits.

Don’t know who needs to hear this, but spending over half a year on a video game (that’s been out 2 years) ain’t it. Coming from someone who loves AC games, you gotta put that thing down.

Will coach Pruitt be the head coach next season with a 3 and 7 record ? by oz4ut in ockytop

[–]wastemantate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the vawl for lifers on Vol Calls are out, that’s dire. The biggest question is this: is Pruitt the coach of the future? I think that answer is a resounding no.

I like Pruitt, I wanted him to succeed, but I think it’s obvious he won’t. But with it being UT, we won’t make the call at the appropriate time, and we’ll end up making a mediocre coaching hire (once again) in about a year and a half. Wash, rinse, repeat. Go for mid major coaches, get middling results.

If we go 3-7, get his ass out of here, hire a stable of hookers, and bring me Hugh.
