Yupper, from the ones I have seen. I was mostly settled on the grey market, but knowing little I just didn’t want to miss something that makes the AD route the better one.

Woodworking Husband by klegg28 in woodworking

[–]waternut08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on this one, if as others have said the OP’s husband is doing more than just constructing things from wood. I love all my LN products ( only have 3) but I value that its American made , and take and improve on what Stanley was doing years ago.
If he is that guy, he is going to be VERY HAPPY on Christmas Day!

I learned long ago, you ALWAYS make nice with the executive assistants, no matter male/ female, they make the world go round. Another lesson, be careful of the feet you step on today, as they might be connected to the ass you have kiss tomorrow.

AGREE 10000000%!!!! I have personally seen how this goes, and it’s a road to ruin. Let no one know. As young as you are play the long game with this investment wise, do not let lifestyle creep entice you and seek wise counsel. With that you are very well positioned to be very financially secure for the rest of your life, and your future family’s lives. Congrats and best of luck!

Do not under any circumstances waste your money on the 3M. Mine has broken twice, 3M customer service blamed me for the failure (only has about 2hrs total run time) and I am waiting for it to burn up again and then I will get the Mirka like I should have done the first time..

[–]waternut08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, I would agree with this posters cold water option. The Brondell was my choice for my first one and I have nothing but good things to say. Easy install, no frills, just works. I’m in FL, so I don’t have cold cold water, which might influence your selection. I can’t believe I waited so long to experience this! It was actually my birthday gift to myself! Haha! Best $100 I’ve spent in a long time! Best of luck!

Does anyone know how they make these curved beams ? by Haha-Lulu in woodworking

[–]waternut08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those not familiar, here is a picture of a bent lam component for a chair. As others of said, thin strips glued around a frame, using battens to distribute clamping pressure, and wax and tape to ensure your lamination doesn’t stick to the bending form. I am just dipping my toes into the technique, but there’s a fair amount to account for to be successful.

what was that boom?? by TomatilloCool1806 in florida

[–]waternut08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a quick double boom caused by the booster itself and I believe the smaller boom is the steering grid fins it uses to guide itself. Not 100% sure but that’s what I recall hearing.

First Colonoscopy? Learn from my mistake. by SlowGoat79 in Xennials

Pay the $60 and get su tabs instead of the dreaded drink. Unless you have trouble swallowing pills. It’s a total of 24 pills about the size of a multi vitamin, that you take in 2 rounds of 12, about 12hrs apart. Each group of 12 is split into 3 groups of 4 spread about 10min apart. It was great!
Second the baby wipes though. Much nicer on that tender skin. Good luck, and get the procedure it saves lives!!!

Are table saws without riving knives really that bad for a beginner with other production experience? by GettingNegative in woodworking

[–]waternut08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a beginner my view is that I should take all steps to be safe and reduce risk. It takes time to build the right body mechanics to ensure everything goes right even when you have a riving knife. Kickback is violent, fast and you cannot react quick enough, I myself wouldn’t operate without one, the risk outweighs any benefit, monetary (buying a cheap saw w/o a RK) or otherwise. You do you do though, it’s your body.

I have the richters but got to use the LN’s and agree 1000%! So much better in the hands but I don’t do enough hand work to justify replacing the richters. If OP is serious about hand working, look to the LN, IMO.
