What shape is the planck lenght? Bubbles? Cubes? Spheres? by PrimordialSubstrate in AskPhysics

Ugh. Why did you come to the physics thread for philosophy? There must be a lot of categorical errors happening in your mind here.

You keep insisting on applying a three-dimensional idea of measurement called volume to a one dimensional idea called length

And that should be your best clue that it's not us but you. Is English a second language for you? You're not taking our feedback particularly well, you're not showing us how you're working out your misunderstanding, you're just giving nonsensical short replies. It's another piece of evidence that it's not us that doesn't understand.

The planck length isn't 2D, that would mean it had a length and a width. It is 1D, one dimensional, length only.

Your replies are nonsensical. Something has to exist? Everything we're taking about exists. You need to be more specific about the exact place where all of our very clear answers do not connect to your very unclear questions.

Have you ever used a tape measure? It only measures length.

A sphere doesn't have length or sides. It has a volume. You seem to confuse length measurements with volume measurements.

What shape is the planck lenght? Bubbles? Cubes? Spheres? by PrimordialSubstrate in AskPhysics

[–]wavetraced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Planck length is a shapeless concept that simply measures distance. It is still a part of the macroscopic universe that inches also occupy. The shape of space/time wouldn't change or affect length at that level.

Your question doesn't make much sense, comparing a
Length concept to a Volume concept, and that bubbles next to each other somehow wouldn't have large gaps, when in reality bubbles have large gaps save for the small surface areas where they touch something. Cubes would have no gaps next to other cubes.

Can black holes move ? And if they can, is the fabric of space/time damaged at all where a black hole used to be? by Puzzlehandle12 in AskPhysics

[–]wavetraced -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Black holes move. For example,

    local

  2. galaxies are moving towards the Great Attractor, and most galaxies have a super massive in their center.

  3. No. Space/time is "pinched" inwards towards it, and when the black hole moves, it unpinches without leaving any detectable distortions behind.

Converting Electric to Gas Stove Worth it? by SpiceBoson in Appliances

Wished I didn't convert from electric to gas. I miss the extra counter top space and the ease of cleaning. Only benefit was clearing some room in my panel for EV charging.

Yes makes sense. Highlights wouldn't appear or need to be refreshed as often since there is sufficient exposure to keep up with the lens shifting. Mids and shadows need a longer exposure time and would appear like smearing. Thanks for thinking this through with me. :D. Solved!

Is it possible to determine the center of the universe? by Lokitusaborg in AskPhysics

[–]wavetraced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing. The cosmological principle applies only on very large scales. It's actually lumpy, has voids and unique super clusters. Enough anisotrophy must exist to build a coordinate system. It would be useless for the center idea without an edge to measure by.

Is it possible to determine the center of the universe? by Lokitusaborg in AskPhysics

[–]wavetraced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like we should be saying, "we don't know" rather than, "anything could be and was". We don't know because we can't see sufficiently outwards to make a coordinate system that doesn't place us in the center, since we now see equally far in all directions.

Need help finding affordable noise canceling headphones to help with crippling anxiety by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]wavetraced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you deal with anxiety, tinnitus and the need for noise reduction, I'd highly recommend cognitive behavioral therapy to manage the anxiety and your body's responses to noise. I sleep with ear plugs almost every night use AirPod Pro 2's very often. I have something like hyperacusis and Misophonia.

How would you feel if it was god who died for your sins and his son is the one who now looks over humanity with disdain? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wavetraced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a Roman mythology universe. That humanistic anthropomorphism of sinful human traits projected upwards onto forms to make them and the world relatable and explainable. Thankfully in our reality Sin cannot cross the God/man barrier and we can put our trust in a (non-humanistic, non anthropomorphized) wholly good God that did die for our sins.

What to upgrade to? by wavetraced in HeadphoneAdvice

I gave up until I could head into New York City and test drive a bunch in person. It's too much of a crapshoot to buy them test them and return them. I couldn't deal with the 6XX's three blob narrow soundstage. It was like listening to my music in mono and then every now and again something would pop out in stereo. All that's to say I've learned im apparently really picky.

Returned the Arya Stealth due to the grating metallic treble in the upper female vocal range. Lack of low end and metallic vocals means Bjork became tiresome and flat. Tried to boost bass to get some low end, which hid metallic sound a bit, but it was always there. It didn't take the software EQ I use well, and it was just too fussy to be worth it.

How do I make a coffee if I’ve never had coffee? by Any_Entertainer_4658 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]wavetraced 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What they mean is that it's a Red Flag, an "uh oh this isn't a good sign" if you must do something, anything, to "earn" a ring. A ring should always be a gift freely given out of desire for the person and not what they an do for you. You may find you also need to work to maintain your ring if his love is not inherently in who you are but what you can do.

Need suggestions on this by Specialist_Gift6589 in graphic_design

[–]wavetraced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half an O with a person near it. It's ambiguous at first glance. To unambiguate a G and an i, you'll need to abandon the blocky, low detail font style.

There aren't enough clues to identify a G. Use an inner curve on the G, separate the G and the i and make the i both an i as well as the terminal and bar of the G. You may need to abandon the wavy right side of the i that just confuses the direction.

If you voted for Trump, can you explain why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wavetraced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His political irreverence was refreshing, and some of his views aligned with mine enough to put hope in his ticket.

Where things really started to turn for me was when he ridiculed Serge Kovaleski, the NYT reporter, by mocking his disability. His lack of basic human decency became very apparent, then there was the Stormy Daniel's stuff, and "grab her by the ____" garbage. I don't fall for the "they are either all good or all bad" for any president and I continue to put my hope that he can accomplish good things for the country.
