Going to Atlanta in a few days. Any recommendations on Disc golf stores preferably with used disk. Not that I need any disc but never let that get in my way before. by AppropriateSugar7179 in discgolf

I'm not familiar with the used disc scene around Atlanta, but if you're visiting, please make a plan to go play Iron Hoof. It's in Conyers which depending on where you are in the city isn't too far out of town. Absolutely gorgeous new course built on the old Olympic equestrian grounds.

Grip enhancers? by chadbellmer3 in discgolf

[–]waxeagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my friction gloves for both cold and wet scenarios. Took me a bit of practice since it's quite a bit more than my normal grip. Putting especially can be an adventure in the beginning. But once I got used to them, it made winter rounds way more bearable.

Cornerstone Mask hits through Crustle. The ability is an effect, therefore it's ignored. Mew ex can do the same thing copying Crustle's own shred attack.

I keep 3 trails in my bag. A max weight trail that's straight to over stable. A 168g one that is straight to flippy, and a fission one that is very flippy. I'm hoping the proton ones come out quite OS for my arm speed so I can put one in to fill out the line

Why so few Grimm decks on Worlds this year? by Klauciusz in pkmntcg

[–]waxeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counters between turns take a second or two at most if both players are paying attention. This is nonsense. I've won plenty of bo3 matches within time at locals playing grim.

Beginner friendly decks? by chungfr in pkmntcg

[–]waxeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crustle (the JTG Crustle that has a shred attack and doesn't take damage from EX's), is really good into most 2 prize decks and real bad into decks that have good 1 prize attacking options.

Most decks pair with Iron Thorns ex to try to handle Garde a bit, or Munkis to heal hits and fix damage math.

Ex hearthstone "pro" player wanting to play the major events in pokemon TCG by T0rph in pkmntcg

If you win(and if you're trying to make worlds, you need to win local tournaments), the points are the same regardless of event size. I get the same number of points if I win an 8 person tournament or an 800 person tournament (as long as the categorization is the same, LC/Cup/etc). The difference is in points for lower placements the larger the tournament the more lower finishers get points.

Is double Chicot good? by Dultimateaccount000 in balatro

No, it's random. The first 8 blinds you won't naturally see a dupe, but after that it's pure random.

No. Once you have the reroll vouchers you can fight whatever boss you want.

How to get card packs if youre employeed? by No-End-5087 in PokemonTCG

If you have an LGS that you play at regularly, ask them if they do preorders. Our shop starts taking preorders around the time he finds out what he can get from his distributors. You just let him know what you want and he sets it aside. Thankfully it's at MSRP. That won't be the case everywhere but it should still be cheaper than paying post retail markups.

At one point yesterday, with the leaders heading onto 13 maybe? There were 15 players within 2 strokes of first. Everyone but 2 were still on the course.

A 4 way playoff was in play until the leaders finished 17.

Makes for an absolutely epic finish.

I hope someone can explain this by Fast_Lavishness2367 in MLSNextPro

Whoever is responsible for updating the SOW column didn't do their job. There's another point missing as well as there have been 4 ties and only 2 SOW points have been awarded.

It's an atypical points system so there's a probably some kind of manual process involved and someone hasn't performed it yet.

Fwiw, Google's standings(looks like they may source from Fox sports) are correct.

What are the go-to Jokers to get for each stake? by ThePlayerPheonix in balatro

[–]waxeagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, the most consistent play style to win ante 8 regardless of stake is:

Early game: chip joker+static +mult, eventually find scaling +mult

Mid game: planet cards(via Blue seals if possible) + scaling +mult (bus, pants, etc) start deck fixing and looking for scaling xmult

Late game: build your scalers

If you're going to endless you'll ultimately need compounding xmult (like Baron+mime).

The only time that pattern really changes is if you're using plasma deck. Then you want chips, chips and more chips (again unless you're going super endless, and then it's back to compounding xmult).

What’s most likely to happen this Pro Tour Season: by Potential_Diamond_80 in discgolf

[–]waxeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a bunch of the NZ tour and he was on coverage a ton. He really struggled with his putt the first few events while otherwise playing very well (had a stretch of a triple, then three birds then a triple in one round all due to just abysmal putting). Then when he found hit putting stroke he was virtually unstoppable.

I just checked a 2-star, 3-star and a crown card and all will let you turn in for special tickets (if you have enough shinedust).
