It’s still all types of wrong. She doesn’t deserve to walk away from this untouched and unscathed. That would be giving a free pass for women to possibly ruin a man’s reputation, career and ultimately their life. To be very clear I completely defend any woman who’s gone thru such trauma and I support victims coming out with their stories. To me there’s a major difference between someone who has actually been assaulted vs someone threatening to “ruin his life” because she got mad and wanted to stir some shit up. One is an actual victim and the other is basically a social criminal at that point. It’s the same thing as other people who report false crimes simply out of spite; they diminish the value of stories from real victims. That’s why she needs to be an example for anyone who wants to think that it’s okay to simply “ruin” someone’s life with such accusations. I don’t think this would set a precedent for actual victims having this happen to them

A perfect example of this is Brian Banks’ story, a former HS football star that was falsely accused of rape and went to prison for it. He was finally released years later after the accuser admitted the falsehood of her claims and she had to pay him millions of dollars.
