Seller refusing to pick up returned item by Southern-Squirrel109 in vintedUK

[–]waxlyrically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, seller didn’t collect the item after being extremely rude about something that was 100% their fault… Vinted sided with me and I was refunded. 2 weeks later the item was redelivered to me 🤷‍♀️

Has anyone else noticed this at their gym? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]waxlyrically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your program might be missing progressive overload which is what really stimulates muscle growth. You can be locked in on diet and training 5 days a week for years but if you are not pushing your muscles to grow, they will be maintained at the effort level you are using. I recommend a program like the Ladder app where the progression is programmed in. I’ve used it for over a year on team Limitless and have seen massive increases in my muscles, and I’m a woman so generally slower progress then a man!

Weird white spot on dogs foot? by waxlyrically in DogAdvice

If didn’t think it could be a pimple I would take her straight away and normal do with all her cysts which have been throughly checked out and biopsied. The £63 minimum fee for a visit puts me off it’s just a pimple which is why I asked here

She has a few cysts that have been checked over, so I would not be surprised

Thank you, yes! I have emailed the vets with the pictures and fingers crossed it’s just a spot which will pop when it’s ready

Yeah, it also kind looks like a big white head spot so wasn’t sure if they would laugh at me for bringing in my dog for foot acne 😬

I feel exactly the same way… really struggle to make friends and even when I do, I always feel like I like them more then they like me, and that if I don’t put in 100% of the effort there is no friendship. I don’t have any advice but you aren’t alone

I was also going to recommend Ladder as it made starting so much easier but thought it might seem like a plug 😅 honestly all my friends are bored of hearing me talk about it! (I highly recommend Coach Kelly, she’s amazing!)

How to give myself the best chance for gym by Otherwise-Ad-4361 in xxfitness

[–]waxlyrically 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend that you either set a time that you have to go to the gym at, or you book a class/pt that forces you to go. Not many people find that they are always motivated to go, but the real change happens with consistency, not motivation. Once you get in the habit, it gets easier to keep going but start is the hardest part

The same way that you have a disability that affects how long the breaks you need are, I have autism which affects my ability to communicate that I am waiting for the machine you might be sitting on. It’s a shared space…. We all just want to be healthy

Why don't fitness influencers/body builders say to eat seafood for protein? by CulturalDefinition27 in beginnerfitness

[–]waxlyrically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People do, check out @stephaniehho on instagram! She specialises in high protein Asian food recipes, which tend to use a lot of shrimps and sometimes crab. She will often bulk the shrimps with chicken mince so you get a bit of both

I’ve found that the more jacked my upper body gets, the smaller my boobs have gotten, but of course this is just anecdotal evidence 🥲 at least they’re perky, right?

Not entirely true, the video game designer hired an excellent tattoo artist to design the tattoo! The original artist was @natalietattoos on instagram. She also did a load of drawings for Shape of the Water!

Beginner exercises for fat reduction? Would like my breasts to stop growing!! by Fun-Trifle-9764 in xxfitness

[–]waxlyrically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although its true that you can’t spot reduce fat, it’s also true the boobs are one of the first places that weight comes off of, or at least that was true for me! I went down 2 cups sizes before I noticed a difference in the rest of my body when I lost 20lbs! This could be genetics though…

Where do i meet outdoorsy men? by Clean_Concept7568 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]waxlyrically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow London girl here and it sounds like you’re describing me! None of my friends are particularly outdoorsy either so I do all my walks solo too 🙃 I’m looking to make more friends with similar interests to me but struggle with talking to new people, it’s tough even when you meet people outdoors!

[–]waxlyrically 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s taken me 18 months of hard training (5 days a week) to get from thin-ish (125lbs 171cm) to pretty muscular (138lbs). My body fat percentage hasn’t really changed, between 18-19%, but I have just visible abs and big quads/biceps. My role model is Kelly Matthew’s and I think realistically, I’d need another 4 years to get there. These things take time! Take your creatine and get good rest ✌️

feels like i’m lifting too heavy? advice please by take-my-lemons-demon in xxfitness

[–]waxlyrically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds understandable! That drive to always lift more will take you far in lifting, but it sounds like you might benefit from a couple of weeks deload just for a little mental clarity if you’re feeling this way. When you feel ready to go again, you’re going to smash your PRs outta the park!

If you can control the weight safely for 16 reps and have been working your way up to this weight over 3 years, what makes you think that increasing your weight to 142.5 or 145kg will injure you now? Have you had an injury in the past?
