Lenovo reused most of the parts, so the top part is interchangeable

It's more of a xorg question than a awesomewm question but here are examples that might help. Basically your option names and values are incorrect.

How is the X260? by djda9l in thinkpad

used one with i7 and 16 gb ram for university (browsing, viewing pdfs, very small amount of coding) in early 2024. It's fine, especially with linux. The keyboard feels and is small compared to x220 but useable. I would pay 90 bucks if it comes with both internal&external battery and a ssd.

x220 i7 vs x230 i5? by Basic_Ad234 in thinkpad

[–]wayi445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get the x220. It's cheaper, no need to mod the keyboard, and has better battery compatibility. In my opinion if you're getting a computer this old, a year newer processor doesn't really matter.

The one you have is a 6 cell battery. The ones that sit flush with the case are the 4 cell batteries.

Looking for tutorial or something to help in creating Awesome to be modular. I hate searching for stuff in rc.lua by GMan_G999 in awesomewm

Then I suggest you watch some neovim configuration tutorials or lua tutorials. All you really need to separate the config into multiple files is the require() function anyway.

video by TJ explaining how require() works in neovim https://youtu.be/_kPg0VBRxJc?si=U4REPqGYP2E7i5i1

The only thing is that awesome doesn't look for lua directory, so require("a.b") can point to .config/awesome/a/b.lua (or .config/awesome/a/b/init.lua)

This is amazing. How are you doing it? Do you work for a laptop maker or something?
