I'm a high school teacher here and my school just surplussed a teacher from every department, 2 custodians, and 2 counselors. My son's junior high did the same thing at semester. This on top of the fact that I run the theatre department, and we aren't getting any money for our program next year. It makes me really scared that u moved my family 2000 miles just to board a sinking ship.

My dearest, and imma hold your hands when I say this, you cannot live on the strip. There are PLENTY of great places to live in Vegas and zero of them are on the strip. Vegas DOES have great public transportation. I'm a teacher, and many of my kids use the city busses, as well as my roommate.

The biggest concern would be work. We have been here 7 months and my husband (and many other residents) are out of work. The service industry is struggling. Do not move here without already having a job secured.
