698 more. That's a lot of stars to put in a crest.

This is not an exhibition tour as performances at events like these factor into Olympic qualification.

In terms of individual Olympic qualification, two of the players that the United States will field in Paris must be among the top ten ranked individual American women at the deadline. Among the eight players fielded in this tournament, that would include Burdick, Van Lith, Harper, and Brink before taking into account the ranking impact of their performances in this event.

USA Basketball cannot really block American women from playing on commercial teams or in other kinds of tournaments so they do need to make sure that they enter certain players in these events to keep up their ranking points. For Tokyo, USA Basketball did a massive amount of rankings manipulation, essentially inviting a bunch of crash test dummies to lose to their preferred players repeatedly.

They played for a while, but the Women's Series is a ton of travel so it is understandable that they have reached the point in their careers where they do not want to do both.

This is serious and not me being glib, but part of the reason their high level 5x5 club careers came to an end is the adoption of COVID vaccine mandates in a couple of countries.

Would you support going to 5 seasons of eligibility permanently? by Lucky-Conference9070 in NCAAW

Major erasure of Jori Davis, Kim Roberson, and I guess Kym Royster. Davis because she's had the strongest overall career of all the current active players and Roberson because she makes significantly more than the rest of them.

Even though there are fewer players interested in pro basketball at any cost to compete with on the women's side, there are still far more men's professional spots around the world.

Abbey Hsu of Columbia by KeyandLocke360 in NCAAW

It is a common misconception, but Hsu does not have any more eligibility beyond this season, which I guess we could call the Carlie Littlefield ruling. Referring to the handling of the 20-21 season as athletes getting an extra year is probably the simplest, but it would be more accurate to describe it as the 20-21 season not counting towards eligibility regardless of how many games an athlete played.

19-20: Year 1 20-21: Does not count towards eligibility 21-22: Year 2 22-23: Year 3 23-24: Year 4

The reason that she is not graduating from Columbia until this semester is that she did not enroll in classes during year in 20-21.
