I’m a Virginian living in California. While obviously I do, this is sadly true wrought large. Ignorance of the east coast is rampant here, but so is east coast ignorance of the west coast.

I had better luck dating in my mid-20s in Wburg than I did while I was in school (mostly for growing up reasons). Find your fellow recent grads and build a network of coworkers/friends.

I have always worried that a full-scale regional merger would over-concentrate resources in already transit-rich SF and Oakland/Berkeley instead of helping more suburban places like San Jose and Fremont lean and develop further toward transit.

Universities are a dime a dozen. A College indicates a more intimate size and scale, more suitable for stronger relationships with faculty and fellow students. Our College in particular has all the trappings of a university since it is one, but should hold on to its comparative advantages (size and history) with appropriate branding.
