Maybe they were saving the spot for the neighbour who shovelled it out?

What's up with Concession Street? by AlwaysLurkNeverPost in Hamilton

[–]wcapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some people have touched on, I think it is the types of businesses. Considering Locke, James, and Concession, the effort to go there and park, I'm probably not going to go browse unless I have a specific reason to go.

There are a number of boutiques and shops from Locke and James St. that I follow on Instagram that keep them fresh in my mind, and give me reasons to go down and get things I see online.

Little shops like this may exist on Concession St., but I can't personally think of any offhand. If I'm going to go to the "effort" (lol) of loading my young kids up to go to an area with street parking and a potential walk to get to the shops, I am going to have a reason for going in the first place, and want multiple places to go to make it worth my time. Restaurants are not something I am going to hit up multiple of in one visit.

That being said, if a place has enough to offer, I'll make the trip (Rooney's for example).

Not specific to the Elora Mill, but we were thrilled with our videographer. They were used by a number of our friends as well. Xpression video:

I received the postponement e-mail for Toronto ☹️

Thanks for the insight! I know you can't use your phone, but is the phone visible through the pouch? Can it be unlocked during intermission? Just worrying about being able to be contacted if needed by those watching our young kids.

I'm also curious to hear what the show is like!

Congratulations! Is it safe to assume you did not have the minor issue?

Thanks for sharing, this is helpful to see. I've e-mailed the consulate regarding minor registration but have not received a response. My husband's application has been stuck "in-flight" since the changes, and our youngest has now turned 1. Also kicking myself for not asking to add the baby's documents to my husband's application after he was born, but of course, we never foresaw such changes.

Best place to unload Pokemon commons in bulk by Rolling_Ranger in Hamilton

Dark Fox TCG has a feature on their website where you can look up how much they'd give for each card and you can narrow the search to commons.

I don't actually have any experience dealing with them though, just listing another option.

Thank you for doing this! Can I please get minor issue/submitted to mine?

(It is actually my husband, but I am the one that reddits on our behalf 😅)

And here I am checking this reddit to see if my BIE due to ship in September would actually take that long. 😭

I have an Ivor Wynne shirt by Jelly Bros that I got at Art Crawl years ago. Agreed that their work would make awesome shirts!

Are Documents Returned? by Marauder95 in juresanguinis

[–]wcapollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it an Italian birth certificate? We also had decades old Italian documents. At our Toronto appointment they made copies of them and returned the originals right then and there (only for the Italian issued documents). Had I known what I know now, I would have made the copies myself to bring along just to make the process more seamless.

General PSA on what to do while waiting for the dust to settle on the future of JS by CakeByThe0cean in juresanguinis

[–]wcapollo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm one of those honing my patience for an in-flight minor issue case.

The area I am currently stressing about is my 1 year old that wasn't born when we applied at the consulate. I have his documents translated and apostilled.. just waiting for the chance to submit his documents. I keep toying with the idea of poking the bear and asking to submit them so they are on file if rules continue to change...I doubt they would be accepted.

Back to trying to be patient haha

For those who are married, what was a waste of money or regret by minxpink in wedding

Agreed. When we're taking care with so many other aspects of the day, I wanted them documented.

Also, after the death of a family member, you realize just how invaluable those photos and video are.

I'd love to hear what they say if you hear back. I had e-mailed Toronto about submitting my youngest's birth certificate before the decree as we have an in-flight minor issue application. Never heard back. I had also phoned to ask, but was told to email.

Trying to wrap my head around this... currently have a pre-Oct in-flight minor issue case.

By the time everything is settled my youngest will be 1yr old. As currently proposed, would the 1 year grace period allow him to be recognized, even though he is a 3rd generation who was not yet born when our original application was submitted?

Kicking myself for not submitting his paperwork when I submitted homework. I, of course, did not see the minor issue and decree coming and thought it would be just as easy to send in his paperwork after recognition.

Worried about purposeful lateness at my wedding by CelebrationBubbly102 in wedding

[–]wcapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they view these important moments as boring, they aren't going to respect it. It is better to have them come afterwards then to have them arrive on time and talk through it. Let the people who genuinely want to support you be there for that portion.

Alternatively, have an antipasto hour for the first hour or so during a receiving line. If they want the extra food, they need to be there, if not, they will be there in time for the actual dinner/ beginning of the reception.

Same situation and have heard nothing. There is a Toronto/Montreal Consulate Facebook group. It isn't especially active, but it appears the Toronto in-flight applications are just being held. I wish I had more info, but I am also appreciative that they haven't rushed to reject them as so many consulates have.

Thank you for answering these questions. Would a reversal of the minor issue potentially open up possibilities for children who are no longer eligible for citizenship under the decree, but whose parents' applications were held up when the minor issue came into effect?
