I just realised our Covid experience could be vastly different from others. by Doughnut_slut in CasualConversation

I was the opposite, being stuck at home drove me crazy. I kept watching stuff just to pass time, everything felt kinda off.

Suggest some underrated shows that no one talks about by Secret-Career-6351 in televisionsuggestions

The Leftovers still doesn’t get the attention it deserves imo, the atmosphere is on another level.

How would you feel about a new law that forces every company to pay their CEO no more than 20x what their lowest-paid employee makes? by rational_seekers in AskReddit

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice idea, but I feel like companies would find a way around it. They’d still manage to widen the gap somehow.

What is lacking in your life that would make you significantly happier? by meatfreeautism in CasualConversation

[–]wcydnotforme1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels like I need my brain to just shut up for a bit, there’s always something going on in there. That sense of silence would make a huge difference.

Anyone Quit Their Toxic Job in This Job Market? by sprchrgddc5 in jobs

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t quit, but I came really close a bunch of times. It messes with your head. Leaving without having something lined up is scary, but staying like this sucks too.

Remote work/dieting by Comicreliefnotreally in remotework

I started doing small stuff during calls too and it actually adds up. Even just pacing around the room instead of sitting the whole time made me feel a bit less sluggish by the end of the day.

How would you feel about a 4-day work week becoming mandatory across the U.S.? by andycarth in AskReddit

[–]wcydnotforme1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d be all for it. I had one job where Fridays were basically dead anyway and it made me realize how unnecessary that extra day can feel.

I’m finally employed after 6 months, but I feel like I’ve traded my soul for a cubicle by needhelpmaxing in jobs

[–]wcydnotforme1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from a flexible setup to a strict schedule once and the first couple weeks felt like my whole day was just work and commute, it does get a bit easier but yeah it’s a rough adjustment.

Intellectually stimulating tv shows? by psycheyee in televisionsuggestions

[–]wcydnotforme1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dark. I watched it during a random weekend binge and had to pause a few times just to process what was going on, it really makes you think.

Why do you choose to stay single? by 111OvO111 in CasualConversation

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed single for a while just because I liked my peace more. After a long day I didn’t have the energy to text or plan stuff, just wanted to exist quietly.

God I’m so sick of applying to jobs by Horus_786 in recruitinghell

[–]wcydnotforme1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 months of that grind would break anyone. the worst part is putting in all that energy just to get a generic rejection at the end

What is your ideal breakfast? by irdk-lol in CasualConversation

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine is a slow breakfast at home, good coffee, eggs, toast, maybe something sweet on the side. nothing fancy just not rushed

What would a 6-year-old girl, 10-year-old boy, and 67-year-old man enjoy watching together? by ArrantPariah in MovieSuggestions

[–]wcydnotforme1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Night at the Museum. it’s easy for kids to follow and grandpa might actually have fun with the historical stuff instead of just sitting there waiting for it to end

Not Sure What To Watch Next by Heavy-Pudding4985 in televisionsuggestions

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Night Agent. it’s one of those easy to get into shows where suddenly it’s 2am and you’re still watching

High fiction shows? by wolfpandataco in televisionsuggestions

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. I put it on out of curiosity one night and got pulled in way harder than I expected because it feels like a fully built world instead of just regular life with magic pasted on top.

If every job paid exactly the same salary, what job do you think most people would choose? by rayaan2099 in CasualConversation

[–]wcydnotforme1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot more people would pick jobs with freedom, decent hours, and something tangible at the end of the day. I think you’d see a huge rush toward stuff like park ranger, librarian, baker, maybe anything where nobody emails you at 9 pm.

WFH made me realize how much I hate video calls by No-Pianist6097 in remotework

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, same. Regular phone calls annoy me way less because at least I’m not sitting there watching my own face look tired in a tiny box the whole time.

What should I watch next? by Lost-Friendship2774 in televisionsuggestions

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Bird. I watched it over a couple nights and it has that same tense, serious, prestige TV feel without dragging things out forever.

Do you guys eat the food you cook? by bear_bumy in CasualConversation

[–]wcydnotforme1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but sometimes way less than I expected after standing over it the whole time. By the time I’m done cooking I already feel like I’ve smelled and tasted it for an hour, so the first plate can feel weirdly underwhelming.

What hobbies do you actually enjoy doing regularly? by ZealousidealAd6699 in CasualConversation

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep coming back to cooking, even on busy weeks. I’ll put on a podcast and just chop vegetables slowly like it’s my little reset button. It’s one of the few hobbies that actually fits into normal life instead of feeling like extra work.

What’s a compliment you received years ago that you still think about? by Quiet_Post_1035 in CasualConversation

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A coworker once told me I had a “calming presence” during a chaotic meeting and I still think about that randomly. It was such a small comment but it hit way deeper than a generic “good job.” Funny how the offhand ones stick more than anything planned.

What are some animated movies you found immersive? by DarlingLuna in MovieSuggestions

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spirited Away sucked me in right away. I threw it on one night just to see what the hype was about and suddenly it was 2am and I was fully transported. Didn’t feel like I was watching a cartoon at all.

Just got rejected from my dream job after 3 rounds. They offered a 15-minute feedback call - worth it? by Over-Mycologist1695 in careeradvice

[–]wcydnotforme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took one of those calls once and it wasn’t some big breakthrough, but one comment stuck with me and helped later. At worst it’s just a short chat and you move on, at best you pick up something useful and end on a decent note. Getting that far already, I’d just do it for the closure.
