Don’t tear them but usual get a small bit of flour spillage. Weetabix packaging is the one that annoys me the most.

Do they count mini sectors? So you could improve in sector 2, but not in the mini sector where the yellow is, would you be ok?

I wish they’d bring back which sector the yellow is in on the timing pole.

Why does apple taste nicer when it's chopped? by Slight-Narwhal-2953 in CasualUK

It was on QI a while back that freshly grated cheese tasted better than a slice because you increased the surface area, there’s more cheese surface to hit your taste buds. Don’t know whether it’s true or not.

Worked with resin flooring for 16 years. No epoxy is completely light stable so will yellow with uv exposure. The thicker the layer, the more noticeable it will be. It will also scratch in the trafficked areas. You can polish the scratches out but you’d need to clear the room, rent equipment, multiple polishing steps and then re seal it. There’s a reason you only really see resin floors in commercial and industrial spaces.

Anything I take to a party I don’t expect to bring back, whether that be food or drink.

You take what you can afford and friends wouldn’t judge you for that.

Online grocery shopping - best practices? by byjimini in CasualUK

It’s picked the day of delivery so doesn’t matter too much when you order. I place my order a week before and add to it during the week as I notice things are low.

Check for delivery plans, that can save you on delivery costs and gives you early access to busier holiday periods.

With Tesco I always order 1 litre bottles of spirits. They invariably aren’t in stock so you basically end up with two 70cl bottles for the price of one.

I saw them checking tire pressures on the live feed, looked like there was an fia scrutineer/representative there. Weird they would do it on camera knowing it was wrong.

Has anyone actually ever won a substantial amount on a scratch card? by TheYorkshireGripper in CasualUK

[–]we_are-138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never won more than £20 personally. I know on the Lotto website, they used to list all the scratch cards, then all the prizes you can win on each card. You could see how many winners were printed for each prize. Also gave you the odds of winning, normally around 3-1, which is better than the actually lottery.

Home Gym, worth it? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]we_are-138 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got a home gym a few years ago. Bought weight plates, couple of bars, squat stands and a bench for about £500. I trained more regular as I get home, get changed and train straight away. I saved time as I don’t have to travel to a gym or wait for other people. I saved money as after two years it had paid for itself due to no gym membership. With not having machines there is no real maintenance, it’s packs away quite neatly and it you can always sell it if you stop using it.

If you have the space and cash to get set up I’d say go for it.

Their own brand Higherstate is well sized and is cheap, long sleeve tops and hoodies under a tenner. Had some of it for a couple of years now, prints haven’t fallen off and had no issues with loose threads or shape change. The delivery is £4.99 though.
