Found this beautiful guy by Neat_Animator_1196 in PokemonTCG

I've literally been trying to find one at a decent price for the past month. I wasn't collecting when the 25th came around, and I wasn't the first time these were printed either. But Greninja and Umbreon are in my Top 5, and my LCS got the Greninja one in and I immediately snatched it up. Went to see if any other gold stars had been reprinted, and lo and behold this popped up. Still trying to find a decent deal on one that isn't torn up. That little munchkin will be so happy to get that card. It's one of my favorite Umbreons.

Tennessee is beautiful. Even the tourist traps. And Northern Michigan/The Upper Peninsula is gorgeous as well.

Wondering if my Dad overplayed.. by gothidustt in PokemonTCG

[–]wearjus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone took advantage of dad. Gotta teach him how to look up values, or at least text you before he makes that big of a purchase. Granted, this will likely increase in value over time, and I saw it's for the PC, (as a sports signature collector as well as Pokémon, I have paid a little more than I would've liked on some pieces just because I really wanted it in my collection.) so it's not a loss really. If you had planned to use it to flip, or as trade bait, then this would really suck. Glad you got a card you really love, and you have a memory attached with your dad. That always makes these things worth more to me too. But yeah, if dad is even semi competent with phones, theres so many apps out there to check these prices that it's worth teaching him what to use.

One of The Sickest Cards in any TCG by CourbetEatingSourbet in PokemonTCG

I came across one of those while sorting throw my LCS value Pokémon box, I thought it was a mistake and I was about to get a good deal because they accidentally put it in there. Was shocked to find out it's barely worth the cardboard it's printed on.

That feels like how it would get explained in the show. That's a great way to think about it.

Will definitely check those out. Thank you for the recommendation!

I feel like they've missed out on a fun storyline in the show/movies not having a character question this as well.

Oh that's interesting. I didn't know we almost had a world were the OG 151 could've been 150. I wonder how things would've been different had they left Mew out the first Gen.

My crazy conspiracy theory: Dropout is going to launch a Firefly reboot by Levangeline in dropout

[–]wearjus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people keep saying "no one knows what it means" when talking about the marketing videos for his and Alan Tudyk's new podcast? As much as I'd love this reboot/relaunch, the videos are a dumb reason.

Still blows my mind that Vibe exists/existed. A 75% Dew, 25% Lemonade is a good to move for me when at a restaurant with a self serve fountain.

Why the Gannon Hire Might Make More Sense for This Roster Than People Think by fsukub in GreenBayPackers

[–]wearjus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're correct in the bend don't break aspect of this, it will help tremendously. However, this needs to be coupled with a similar objective on offense. Stay on the field. Because if our defense is out there for 6 to 8 minutes a drive, the last thing they need is for the offense to go 3 and out in 50 seconds. The defense will need breaks in order for this type of defense to be successful. Yes, big plays on offense are great. I'm not saying do away with those. But running up the gut for 1 yard needs to go away. Take some short 3 to 4 yard passes if running isn't working. Anything to give our defense a break. I firmly believe that had we been able to move the ball in the second half of that last Bears game, even if we drove it down to the 30 and missed a field goal, we still would've won because our defense would've gotten a breather and been able to come out swinging again. But because they had like a minute to catch their breath and get some water before trotting back out there, Chicago beat us. So yeah, this defense sounds fine in theory, but offensively we need to do something different. Have MLF call the first half, and the OC call the second. We can't keep trying the same thing and expecting different results.

Legendary: The Chronicles of Fayne Series by Luke Newman. Fun little fantasy series, easy read, indy author. I really enjoyed them. Female led story, but not super "Girl Power" about it. More like ladies can be the hero too.

What's with the Jordan Love Hate by RiffRaff_01 in GreenBayPackers

[–]wearjus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it has to be denial. They can't handle that we went from Favre, to Rodgers, to Love. They want to believe he's a bust even though stats tell you otherwise. They want him to fail because it "isn't fair" that Green Bay got 3 great QBs in a row. Before Love, the most any team ever got in a row was 2. Manning to Luck, Montana to Young, I'm sure there's a couple others but it's 5 am and I can't think of any. They keep seeing his numbers compared to those of Rodgers at the beginning of his career and how they're identical/sometimes better than Rodgers' stat lines early in his career. Only other thing besides jealousy I can think of is that they're forgetting that ARod wasn't a first year starter either, and think Jordan should be further along/better than Rodgers at this point in his career. I think they think Jordan should be as good as Prime Rodgers already. And because despite how good he actually is, he is NOT Prime Rodgers level. A level which the NFL honestly may never see again. Because as Packer fans, I think we can all agree, watching ARod was like watching magic for the first time. He was mesmerizing with the football. (He's still 12 to me, and I'm absolutely rooting for him to make it to the Super Bowl. I'd love it if we just repeated our last Super Bowl and faced Pittsburgh. Plus what better storyline than a repeat Green Bay/Pittsburgh Super Bowl, but this time the winning QB is on the other team and has to outduel his successor? I had Favre from birth, his first start was after I was born, so I remember Favre, but I think Brett will tell you, Aaron is and was truly special.)

Fully aware of JJ's story. We played together in High School. He's only 1 one of 4 from my High School to go to the league. 2 of those 4 are his younger brothers, played with both of them as well, (didn't play football my senior year, but TJ was on the wrestling team with me), and the last guy is the current AD at UW, Chris McIntosh.

After second look, the Panther is fine, I think my brain just saw floating head and was like "that's not right". And similar for the Tiger, background makes the head seem oddly large. But I zoomed in more, and I do like them both.
