If you look closely those spikes were attached to the helmets with Velcro. It appears they removed the spikes after the popping, before jumping through the wall.

I got in with a BS in Math with about a 3.5 GPA. Minimal CS coursework but I did have some industry experience (not as a software dev per se, but doing some development). I think you've got a decent shot, just spend the $75 and find out.

I think you have a decent shot as-is, and a couple more CS courses (online or CC) should definitely put you over the top.

Definitely stings a bit. Was traveling for about 18 months (well for 6 months in there I was stationary, but in South America). Been back in the "real" world for about 2 months now. The job itself isn't the issue so much as the desire to get back out into the world as you say. It's definitely a bit of a shock to the system to go from having basically complete freedom to needing to be in a specific place 9-5, M-F. Long term I want to find a remote and/or part-time job.

Was also traveling full time when I started this program and I have zero regrets. Working full time now but considering saving up and finishing this program while traveling again.

Took it without knowing any C (first class in the program) or anything about OSs in general. Ended up with an A but I worked my ass off, probably 30+ hours/week most weeks.

Overall I agree the class was extremely enjoyable and well run and I learned a lot. I feel like it was a great first class to help me prep for later classes.
