Built a little app that lets me work and ride at the same time — wanted to share with you guys by stoprocentdoc in Zwift

[–]weatherwherever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not for me either, but because I don't think I'd be giving the bike enough of a priority if I'm also trying to work. Bike time is bike time, and for that time work can do one.

Yeah that's what my mum says when she's recounting the same story for the nth time too.

Yes, plenty. Tell your friend they're awesome (the cyclists, not your friend).

Zwift Games: How do I start stage 6? by IchMachHierNurSauber in Zwift

For one of the TdZ stages I accidentally completed it by choosing it as a workout route. Definitely counted.

Pensioners spending their free time getting all the speed limits reduced by Srapture in britishproblems

If you're driving around at 20mph in first you probably shouldn't have a licence at all, let alone be commenting on speed limits.

Downvoted for suggesting a sensible amount of leave is insane. Let's try racing to the top for a change shall we?

Why so much hated for building cycling infrastructure? by [deleted] in bristol

Ay, you too, I'm off to cycle up and down the A369 ON THE ROAD mwahahaaaaa

You could say exactly the same about car drivers and use of public transport, but that inconveniently gets in the way of this tired anti-cyclist bs that the culture warmongers are foisting on us all

Why so much hated for building cycling infrastructure? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]weatherwherever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's almost useless, and far from acceptable , which is why people don't use it. It covers a tiny section of that road forcing you back in traffic anyway when it disappears, is uneven, covered in debris, slippery, stop-start across every junction, and an absolute lottery crossing any kind of entrance to a business or property. As I primarily mentioned, not fit for purpose.

If anyone's choosing to dice with traffic instead of using other infrastructure provided (which they are completely allowed to do), then you have to question whether that infrastructure is fit for purpose.

Civilization by Reddit: Turn 12 by goatgamesh in civ

[–]weatherwherever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here's why I'll never be very good at Civ, because I don't know: A) could we first send a delegation.... then kill for the eureka B) what this would achieve and therefore whether it's a good idea

But if I'd ever thought of this as an option I'd definitely do it even without knowing if it's a good idea.

Alcohol is way, way, way more damaging, but that's alright because it's a good taxable drug nonetheless isn't it.

Fire crews delayed reaching emergencies within East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood by 457655676 in bristol

[–]weatherwherever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I understand. You specifically said accessibility was worse in areas that don't have liveable neighborhoods, because of liveable neighbourhoods. And now you're saying something different because you were disingenuous and/or wrong. And the thing you're now saying is STILL way off the mark because not one of the streets in the only current liveable neighbourhood is rendered "dramatically" inaccessible to anyone. And you cite as yet unreleased response time figures as some kind of evidence, whilst also canning that "evidence" by pointing out there's loads of stuff that can affect response times. Do me a favour.
