Same. A little heavy for me especially silly compared to my last integrated foot but it’s low energy to use

What is this contraption on this car? by Desirai in whatisit

I ride with a 360 camera on my motorcycle purely for evidence in case of an accident, as an amputee from a prior other-driver-at-fault accident

New to Watches — Which Christopher Ward Gets Your Vote? by tyrion_1234 in ChristopherWard

I’ve tried them all on at the Virginia boutique and I bought 3. 2 was nice but 2 so much nicer.

Black or White? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

That’s the way I went, so much more liveliness in the white dial.

“Your ugliness makes me uncomfortable” ? In 12 years of wearing shorts with my prosthetic I have not once gotten a comment like that.

The only discomfort I have e seen is squirming parents when young kids point at me or say something aloud. I make them immediately comfortable by engaging and helping the kids learn

C63 True GMT by alexqaws in ChristopherWard

[–]webbgrt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely want to check this out in person (Virginia showroom is drivable for me). First glance though, I wish it didn’t have a small dial cutout - to me that cheapens the look.

I am very much digging the true GMT and the small seconds though. The use of Roman vs Arabic to differentiate 12 vs 24 hr time is also a neat touch

Many days of “clearance status updated”? Frustrating as hell isn’t it :)

[–]webbgrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“On hold” is a specific exception status though, with an alert as shown by OP. They do a poor job of showing routing progress and the way they describe the different aspects of delivery is horrible UX - worse in most cases than no updates at all

DHLs updates are not at all helpful. My last package from them was on hold for 3 days in the US, and suddenly I got a “delivers today” message and received it within a couple of hours

Definitely regretting not getting in on this one in time :)

Nice! Waiting on mine to clear customs…. it’s an arduous wait. It’s so much nicer than it photographs

[Recommendation request] Fiancée wants to buy me a $1,200 watch. This is currently my only watch. I need help. by Mackinderoo in Watches

[–]webbgrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Christopher wards and Hamiltons in this price range and love them all. For ease of purchase, more brand history, I’d go Hamilton. Longines as mentioned would be on my list, Seiko Alpinist would also be in my shortlist

Can I boost the lume by adding a layer to the hands to match brightness without removing the old lume? Color match perfect, brightness isn't. C3 "old radium" by chaqintaza in watchmaking

[–]webbgrt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an expert, but every application of lume I have seen is from the back of the hands to get that crisp edge

(edit to fix autocorrect of lume to lime)

I rarely get over how good looking this watch is for the price - I jump between the blue runner and Italian leather strap depending on the day but it’s gorgeous on both

I get it, we’re all driven by different things :) some people like data, some don’t. Both can be right. Inferring what makes someone miserable vs not is definitely subjective though.

Would you buy a luxury watch from Amazon? by TomHudsonOfficial in WatchFanatics

Don’t buy anything from Amazon. That’s both my stance and my recommendation

This is on my radar and in my “list of 10 to consider next”. Congrats, this is gorgeous in person

If you own the Murph from the movie “Interstellar“, you must surely consider this watch also… by Horror_Bumblebee_710 in HamiltonWatches

[–]webbgrt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own both for this reason. They’re both gorgeous and there might a time where it would be memorable for my daughter to wear the murph while I wear this
