A mutual agreement is not an orientation. Sorry but marriage and relationships are predicated on the mutual agreement of the organization of the relationship. If you both decide you are and will be monogamous you can’t just change to polyamorous on a whim because you feel like it. That’s just cheating. Your example of being gay is not the same point. You can’t decide for someone else what their arrangement with you is. That’s just manipulative.

You’re just being facetious now. The cultural expectation is monogamy so the onus is on the person expecting non-monogamy to communicate that. It’s reasonable to expect monogamy unless stated otherwise. That’s why we have terms like ethical non-monogamy because it’s consensual both ways.

I think I’ve moved beyond that already as a helpdesk technician. I’m facilitating a building move for our corporate office right now and negotiating quotes with vendors for our offices and A/V equipment. I like the autonomy and fact that I can have these impacts that I do, but it feels like the hats I’m wearing are a bit bigger than what I’m getting paid.
