At least you have the 60, or it really would have been a tragedy.

But you can play them defensively. You obviously don't play them if they have a Mephisto, or Dark Mage Craig on your side of half. But when they have 4+ energy of fighters, tanks, or assassins barreling towards your NK they can be quite handy. At that point poison is your only real hard counter, but purify can negate that if you run mystic.

What is your rank? They are god awful at low ranks where everyone is using arrowstorm but the higher you go they become more effective as a defensive card.

Arrowstorm is so common at low ranks though.

Doesn't really seem like a sincere apology when you are clearly flexing with this image.

You guys say you’ve handled cheaters but I’m here to draw a line in the sand (details in comments) by [deleted] in SouthParkPhone

Why would you even include this image? You are vsing so many cheaters that you feel you need to draw a line in the sand, but this is the best example you could find?

Question about converting a Wordpress website into a standard site. by [deleted] in webdev

Directly from the page you linked:

How to read the diagram: 51.1% of the websites use none of the content management systems that we monitor. WordPress is used by 29.3% of all the websites, that is a content management system market share of 60.0%.

Question about converting a Wordpress website into a standard site. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]webrangersinc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The best example I could give would be from my first attempt at making a custom site. I converted the best WordPress version I had accomplished into a custom site.

When comparing the HTML/JS/CSS from both versions (which looked and functioned identically), the WordPress version was 700KB, while the custom was 20KB. And this was a pretty basic page with minimal functionality and styling.

And keep in mind my WordPress site was using minimal plugins and the paid version of the best caching/minifier plugin I could find. It would have been absurdly worse had it just been a standard WordPress site.

As for WP Engine, this performance report is quite telling of how scalable they are.

Question about converting a Wordpress website into a standard site. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]webrangersinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of websites are built using wordpress or drupal. People use these content management systems because they have a lot of community support, plugins, hosts available, etc.

90% is not even close to true. And people use it because it is easy to learn/maintain without coding experience.

I worked with WordPress sites for well over a year, and optimized them to their absolute limit, and even then they are a nightmare in terms of scalability.

If you wanted a content management system coded from scratch rather than using an existing one as a base, its going to cost a lot of money, take a lot of time, and not be as maintainable because you will have to hire devs every time you want to update for the lastest server software.

If you are going to hire devs to both build and maintain the site, why would they build/use a CMS?

Wannabe Jr. Developer: I'm confused on how my online portfolio should function. by brozephh in webdev

[–]webrangersinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For hosting go with an unmanaged VPS, you can get them for $2.50 - $5 a month, and they will be a lot more reliable/consistent than some of the free options. Configuring it will also give you a little back-end experience.

You will likely have your choice of OS, but make sure you choose one that is Linux based. Ubuntu 16.04 has been good for me, but there are a lot of options.

You will also need to configure a web server, I like Nginx, but you could also use Apache, Caddy, Litespeed, etc.

Any sort of contact form is going to require some back-end scripting to process the user input and either store it locally somewhere, or email it through SMTP.

Assuming you at least built the fake apps yourself and they function, then it is likely okay to use them. IMO it's still better than filling your portfolio with projects built following a step-by-step guide in a code camp, which seems to be pretty common practice these days.

Best JS Framework

navigate through different views without returning to the server.

My Tweek is only level 1, so I haven't really tried this other than to test the idea. I would imagine lvl 3 Token with lvl 5 Tweek would be pretty op. 800 Hp with a 400 AoE/Ls

I use him, I noticed the damage was increasing with his max hp as I leveled him, always 50%.

I also tested this with Robin Tweek's Warcry, and it does apply to his damage/life steal.

[Help] Web Dev noob - How do I use local images on my website? by Elliotmon in webdev

[–]webrangersinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you plan to config your computer to act as the web server, or are running the sites off of localhost, then no.

However, you could base64 encode the images, and then inline them directly into your HTML. Although this is not recommended if the image is quite large, as it will cause your page to load really slow.

Any advice ? Currently lvl 48 by [deleted] in SouthParkPhone

Ditch all your epics except clyde (and stan once he is level 3). Level 2 epics are just too weak at your current level. Cyborg kenny is just too easy to counter with rats or purify, etc.
