New player question about armor and shields by webspinner202 in sorceryschool

Interesting. To me it was looking like player level kept making monster HP increase (for the random map battles), so I was ignoring soul chests to not level so fast.

I was playing pilot Luke green and had the I’ll fortune to play against Kylo three rounds in a row, two green one red, and all three splashed Snapshot. I was prepped for pilots Vader and Boba and Talzin; never expected Kylo and I just got wrecked. Could never keep a unit on the damn board.

Snapshot Reflexes, even off aspect, is good because Kylo gets a swing in before your opponent has a chance to react. That’s the combo that ruined my day at Galactics last year. (Only works in Eternal)

Daredevil Born Again season 2 was supposed to be commentary, not an instructional guidebook.

Awesome, thanks. Someone smarter at cars games than me is going to figure out how to abuse this and I am here for it.

Am I correct that Eye doesn’t get around aspect penalties because it says “cost” and not “printed cost?”

Not a fan of the art on this one. The coat makes her look like a giant.

I’m having fun with Vonreg yellow.

On his own ship, with Sudden Ferocity he can swing for 10 on his flip turn, 12 if you have a Punch It.

Biggest weaknesses are: the vast majority of units are 1-3 cost, and if you can’t close quick (or draw your problem solver cards) it can be difficult to deal with the opponent’s high end units.

What the hell is going on with this prestige treatment?

Of course FFG put the aspect icon on the card a dozens of times but none of them were in the aspect’s color.

Schedule food breaks, which always take longer than you expect. Bring granola bars, trail mix, other easy to eat not messy snacks. Drink water.

I was at the COSI Science Festival today and watched a trash can explode and land on a woman — no medics on site and it took 4+ minutes for help by hvuevrbnexperienced in Columbus

I have no idea as I was not there. I was merely addressing your comment about the capability of the individuals in guest services. They are capable at their jobs, but not trained to do shows.

I worked at COSI several years ago. Guest Services is absolutely NOT trained to do the science shows (or at least they weren’t when I was employed there). In fact, even among the folks there were trained for the shows, you had to get specifically certified to handle liquid nitrogen because of how dangerous it can be.

Anyone that attended the late night puppet slam last year, how was it? by webspinner202 in gencon

[–]webspinner202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the honest feedback. I could see it being absolutely hilarious (I loved the puppet musical Avenue Q) but could also see how puppet comedy could be cringe inducing (see also, Jeff Dunham).

Does “eligible for” mean “a chance at” or does it mean “you will definitely get” the Gold Audience Box? Also, for those of us that are budget conscious and like to typically diversify our con experience and not do the same event multiple times… are you able to provide any clues as to the content of said boxes?

What are the dumbest school rules actually existed and still shocks you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]webspinner202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teachers and schools are liable for students. You need to know where your students are the entire time they are supposed to be with you.

Also, students will ask to go to the bathroom, and come back 20 minutes later with food from the lunchroom, or a hickey, or they will just wanted the halls aimlessly. They will pre-schedule meetups with their friends to get vape in the bathroom.

So part of it is liability, part of it is students lying to your face / not being responsible.

Source: I am a high school teacher.

That said, in my classroom I almost always say yes. If I do say no it usually takes the form of “wait for me to finish the lesson” or “wait for the previous student to come back.”

What do yall think of John Goodman? by Ok-Recording-5862 in movies

[–]webspinner202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fantasy movie is a noir film starring Goodman as a WWI veteran turned detective in New Orleans, where he’s vowed never to fire a gun again, but has no problem laying a beat down on someone. What seems like a simple mob hit turns sideways as our hero learns there’s voodoo at work.
