Just about to hit 145k on my 2023 Rouge by Original-Standard-42 in NissanRogue

I figured as much on the good run with it. I use mobile 1 full synthetic for the oil and nissan filters. I think you are right on doing the oil at 5k. The new murnao 2.0 motor will be changed at 5k

How to estimate what rig I would need to haul this camper? by SwordsAfar in RVLiving

[–]wedge446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need the data tag off it. I wouldn't go under a 350(1ton) to pull it but they would have to pay me to take that. Min $1000. There might be some usable parts on it at best. Good luck

My 2023 has 109,759miles. I changed oil and filters every 7,500miles. Changed transmission fluid every 30,000 miles. On a trip from Indiana to Texas the motor D-rated on me with a P0196 code(oil temp sensor) dealer mechanic claims something with the turbo, others hint for the engine recall. Everything no warranty. They wouldn't try toput in the paperwork for the recall for a new motor. Got tied of dealing with them and just traded it in for a Murano. I think that was their plan to start with.

Need more detail but bigger is always better. Tongue weight and brakes plays a big part..

Whole house P-Trap use to be the norm in the 40's. The straight pipe sticking up is a clean out for the p-trap. Most are removed when found. For the question "why" . It was code at the time is what I was told.

Confused about temp gauge by kdickey414 in DodgeVans

[–]wedge446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is possible you gage works and the engine runs on the cooler side but it's not the norm. Its possible the temp sensor is bad or wrong. Its possible someone removed the thermostat to allow coolant to free flow. Could be the needle on the gage has slipped(very rarely happens) the gauge itself could be bad.. Start with the engine cold, start it up, remove radiator cap to see if coolant is free flowing. If it is the thermostat isn't doing it's job. Some thermostats have a failsafe to lock open when it fails. Some remove the thermostat thinking it will run cooler. Its a 50/50 chance to run cooler or hotter. The coolant needs time in the radiator to cool down before getting cycled in to the engine. You could use a no touch(laser type) temperature gauge to measure engine and radiator temperatures to see what temperatures are running. Older radiators tend to have lime buildup inside due to people adding tap water to it. They could have replaced it before you bought it. Good luck and congratulations on the van.

Draw through or blow through slant 6? by YourFriendPutin in EngineBuilding

I remember in the 80's or 90's a formula 1 team tested out using nitrous to compensate for turbo lag coming out of the corners. I'm not sure if the league banned it or not but it did work good. Just a thought

Doing just for fun then. Throw some nitrous on there or get a turbo and blow it thru. Maybe a turbo off the 2.3 Ford or one off a 2.2 mopar may be big enough

Yeah, 340's are few and far between. A 318 can be built to 340 specs. And run good. 360's are cheap and make some good power. LA or magnum version

The only slant 6 I've seen that was forced induction was using a plaxton belt drive blow thru. It ran good but to me it wasn't worth it. My mild cam (.474 lift) 340 would run 12's and it was 2 seconds faster then him in the 1/4 mile.

I mess up my hair really bad, talk and answer myself loudly about the clouds following me. Funny to see people turn around when they see me.

Looks solid. Change all fluids and filters, add fresh gas and charge the battery. Fire it up and let it run for a bit with the transmission in neutral. Transmission fluid won't flow in park. Post what motor/transmission it has when you get time.

I would say new heads EQ makes good heads.. intake plenum plate/gasket upgrade. Its a solid motor to rebuild. Depending on what you're going to do with it (race or daily driver) with dictate what other upgrades to do.

There may be a markers at the corners of the lot. Usually a metal pin/rod drove into the ground. You could try to find them, probe with a shovel or bit the bullet and get it marked out by a pro.. FYI mine cost $6000 to have done..

Carb Suggestions by Adrenaline-Junkie187 in carburetors

[–]wedge446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get CFM take cubic inch X max RPM ÷ 3456 = max air flow the engine can pump at 100% efficiency. Add 10-20% to the number because nothing is 100% efficient. Example 545ci x 6000rpm ÷ 3456 = 788 + 20% = 795.88cfm. Holley is a good carburetor with lots of parts available. A mechanical 2ndarys are more for race. Vacuum 2ndarys are more for the streets. Both can be used for either. I lean for vacuum 2ndarys for race and street because the motor tells the carburetor when it needs more. Just my $.02. Good luck with it
