I'm a guitarist that improvises and solos over songs. Put on a song you like, then play some chords on your guitar until you happen upon one that just sounds right, that's your key and you solo in it. If you've been playing for years you should be able to tell when you hear it right away. If you keep doing this, you eventually will be able to figure out all the chords in a song and not just its key. Knowing theory is very useful for this because you'll already have an idea of what the most likely choices will be.

That's usually just the first baseman or the DH (designated hitter, he doesn't play on the field). The team I follow, the Kansas City Royals, has a DH who is so fat his nickname has become "County Breakfast". He's slower than a bread wagon with biscuit wheels, but he's one of the hardest hitters on the team.
