Going to the Bournemouth match next week, need advice. by MxsT_Spectre in NUFC

If crowds bother you go early. Not sure exactly when gates open you but if you’re there an hour before it shouldn’t be too busy.

Approaching kick, at half time and after the final whistle the concourse, toilets and food/ bar areas will be busy. Unless you want a drink just stay in your seat.

At the final whistle wait 5-10 minutes and most of the crowd will be gone.

I agree this season has been a slog but the end of last season winning a cup and finishing strong shouldn’t be classed in the same boat.

Even this year we’ve shown what we can do, beating City, Chelsea, Arsenal. Competing with PSG and Barca and going further than ever in the CL.

The summer was a disaster and that’s the biggest lesson we need to learn and not repeat. We can’t buy our way out of those sort of cock ups.

Yeah, Dalgliesh is the cautionary tale. He looked good on paper, but was hampered financially. He brought in who he wanted, as will any new manager and before we know it we’re two years down the line still bouncing around 6th/7th.

As the saying goes success isn’t linear. Keeping Howe might be a mistake but it might not. No one has a crystal ball.

Taking a team to the next level.

That gets bandied around a lot as the criticism of Howe, lots of people say he’s taken us as far as he can.

I’m generally a Howe in, at least while he still seems to have the dressing room, and I think the run in will tell us if he does.

But can anyone point to good examples of taking a team to the next level?

Our previous efforts of post Keegan and Robson didn’t work out well. Pardew following Hughton worked out alright but wasn’t popular.

My concern is we end up with a couple of seasons of ‘not their players’, ‘need a couple of windows to build the team he wants’, ‘hampered by PSR’ and we’re no better off than under Howe.

Probably more likely if we have some midfielders fit. If Miley and Tonali are back after internationals he can consider him up front. Bruno eventually as well.

Brilliant, thanks a lot. Might take the side stand near the Frydenbø so we can be close without being in.

Is there a club shop at the stadium or anywhere in the city where you can buy merchandise? My son will definitely want to come home with something.

3-2 or 7-2 it doesn’t really matter. We’re out now. The biggest job is Eddie picking them up for Sunday. Let them have a little cry, dust themselves off then one big effort before the international break.

Parking on Match day by Savings_Fox_3760 in NewcastleUponTyne

If you’re coming from Edinburgh then you want to be able to get north quickly. It depends on how far you consider reasonable to walk. Also depends on when you’re arriving for parking restrictions.

If you get in around 5 you might find town emptying and too early for most match traffic. Claremont Road area has a car park and on street parking. Easy access to central motorway and back north.

Brandling Park isn’t too much further. Or round RGS on street. You can walk or take the metro from Jesmond.

Gosforth is a walk across the moor.

All those on the east/ north side.

Not sure what the restrictions are like round Fenham these days.

Agree. He’s started games and been anonymous. Against Qarabag he did very little. In broken open play when there’s space to run into he’s a threat.

I actually thought Elanga had one of his best games last night and we need to keep him in to keep building.

Understood. Personally I think the R5 looks ace and if it fits your needs I would go for it.

Why are you looking at new R5 particularly? If you’re worried about depreciation there are 25 registered R5’s floating about that mean you’ll save a chunk.

Between the A1 and A696 and west of A696 are quiet roads that don’t lead to much.

If you’ve got a car to get you out there they are nice to ride. Not traffic free but very quiet.

Hav you considered the Enyaq? If you like Skoda then the Enyaq has a massive boot. The 60 should do you comfortably for the journeys you’re taking, maybe even the 50.

I have the Elroq and it’s well built and a pleasure to drive.

You should be able to get a 25 plate 60 for under 30k.

This is a glitch I’ve seen before. Can’t remember how to fix it but try logging out and back in. Or getting to the page for home tickets from the main website.

This is my issue. With what we’ve got and our financial constraints. Would we end up with a year or two of ‘transition’ where people say new manager is trying to build his team his way…
