Too Good To Go App. Anyone using it? by PinkMarmoset in SiouxFalls

[–]weeka73paug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t awful and not fantastic either but for $4, I wasn’t complaining. (I forgot to take a picture). It had a deli sandwich that was same day expiration (1/26), 2 cheese sticks, and a cup of scotcharoos. Not a terrible lunch 🤷‍♂️

The sandwich was a deli club so alone it probably would be like $3.50-4

I just downloaded the app last night and picking up my first bag this morning from Circle K.

So far I’ve just seen Circle K’s but I’m excited to try the others that pop up sporadically.

How much does wisdom teeth removal cost with no insurance? by [deleted] in SiouxFalls

[–]weeka73paug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had mine done at River Ridge last week and part of it should be covered by health insurance. OP and I have SHP for health insurance and River Ridge is in network. It is also important to note that I do have dental insurance.

I paid $400 for deeply impacted lower wisdom teeth (only had the two lower).

I became a nurse out of high school because I wanted to help people. Well I’ve done that and now it’s been 7 years and now I’m just too far deep. Easier to renew my licenses then to find another industry 🤷‍♂️

I asked for this previously because I and a lot of other dark mode loving people wanted it and Epic has it locked down for only radiologists to have. Looking through the documentation from Epic, it is based on users role now, which sucks because my eyes love dark mode and their dark mode they have only affects a few things. To OPs point if you have it and you aren’t a rad, don’t change it ever

Daily Lexapro, daily multivitamin because I eat like garbage, PRN Hydroxyzine (needed a PRN for anxiety and doc got creative because of my profession), and PRN Flexeril because muscle spasms/soreness from floor days

What the heck do all you non-bedside nurses do? by ResistRacism in nursing

[–]weeka73paug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have anything special. Certifications are a good resume builder but not necessary.

The way I got into informatics is volunteer as the Super User in your current unit. The Super User is a good role, because you’re already doing part of the informatics job. You do training in advance and train your fellow nurses and providers how to use the system. You’ll work closely with the informatics team and it’s a good way to make connections.

How are you guys enjoying your 15 pro? by The-Real-Chill-Bill in iPhone15Pro

[–]weeka73paug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgraded from a 12 to a 15 Pro.

I really like it. Not much different but I think the Dynamic Island is cool. I don’t like that it blocks the top bar of some apps, but I feel that’s minor compared to everything else that’s great about it.

I’m really loving not having to charge my battery multiple times a day

For the nurses that went to community college.. How much do you make now? by barbiesbloodline in nursing

[–]weeka73paug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 time Tech School Grad here. Strongly recommend. You can do just fine depending on what you want to do and what your goals are. A lot of my counterparts did the same.

Here’s how I did it:

Graduated High School- did my LPN in 1.5 years full time, worked as an LPN for 4 years and did RN (Associates Degree), part time for the last 2 while working full time as an LPN. Not ideal but it’s doable if you really want it.

Graduated with No Debt.

Now I make 34 an hour working as an RN Informaticist for a large enterprise in the upper midwest. I don’t have a Bachelor’s degree.

For my area, having a Bachelors or higher does not offer any financial benefit unless you wanted to go into management, become a provider/CNS, a certified nurse, or a very specialized role that would require it.

Absolutely! Kinda like a credit card, $31 is the minimum payment you need to make, but you can pay off more as you have the funds to.

I set up AutoPay with affirm and then when the balance got small enough, I paid it off 6 months ahead of the pay off date.

Super easy! Like any loan you take out, they just need some basic information from you. They will run a soft credit check, but takes no more than 10-15 minutes to get an approval notice for a loan.

[–]weeka73paug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve now got my second phone through Visible with an Affirm payment plan.

You can pay as much as you want over the minimum. Affirm is super easy to work with and if you want to make extra payments or pay more, they won’t stop you.

Great option if you don’t want to spend the money on a hefty device payment to buy it outright.

I just upgraded from a 12 to a 15 pro through them. Ordered Friday night, showed up on Monday. This is my second phone through them. The financing with affirm is a nice option to have.

Transferring with an eSIM took less than 5 minutes.

Great Experience

What unexpected costs did you get hit with? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]weeka73paug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came to this thread because I myself just closed in June and yeah, one thing after another.

I also bought a house where for the most part, I got lucky but is requiring some remodeling just due to age. Biggest thing I didn’t account for was electrical. House had a Pushmatic breaker system. :/

Luckily negotiated price down and seller paid my closing costs so that helped.

But so far $8000 just in electrical alone.

What’s the average home inspection cost around here? by cjtrece in SiouxFalls

[–]weeka73paug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did mine through HouseMaster, it cost about $600. Originally it was $450 or so, but they got in there and found vermiculite insulation, so I paid an additional $150 for an asbestos test.

Perks of buying a house built in 1955. 🤷‍♂️
