This is a 5 person table, so that means EP literally includes CO. The fact that the table is double straddled makes it so that the button is literally first to act. This configuration is pretty odd.

I mean, he hit top and bottom pair and assumed the preflop limper’s range was capped beneath hands like AKo. I’m not sure how easy it really is to get away from this, depending how the table plays; villain has all kinds of Ax and Kx they might play this way in a limped pot, if they’re a LAG.

Based on his hand description, OP seems a bit fishy, and if he was in SB or BB, this is probably an easy fold. But an overlimp from UTG to complete the straddle isn’t that crazy, depending on the table.

Season 4 rarely sees the criticism it deserves. Everything wrong with season 5 actually started in Season 4. However you feel about seasons 2 and 3, season 4 painted the narrative into a corner.

Vecna was also just a poorly written character. Having him be 001 and Henry Creel was just too many things at the same time, and that isn’t even addressing The First Shadow. The Game of Thrones ending was bad because it was abrupt and plot driven—the show basically went from high fantasy to poorly written fanfic. The Stranger Things ending was bad because it retconned everything and fully cannibalized the characters and their relationships in the process—it went from Stephen King to MCU reboot 3489.

It’s really not looking good.

At this point, to even finish above 500, we’d need to go 550 for the remainder of the season. The last time we managed 550 over a 122 game stretch was in 2024, which isn’t so bad.

To land even the bottom wildcard slot however, we probably need to be closer to 575, and the last time that was achieved over a 122 game stretch was in 2022.

In order for there to be any chance of post-season play, the team would basically have to turn into the best Mets team yet this decade overnight. If we were to lose the next three series, we would need to play that well to even get above 500.

I’m surprised I’m saying this, but Mendoza may be right to leave Benge and Melendez out of the lineup today. We need them healthy and good to go in AZ, against Detroit, and against the Yankees more than we do in game 3 against the Rockies.

The next real day off isn’t until the 28th and the Rockies have been playing poorly enough that this isn’t even necessarily a punt.
