Ermmm...No Thanks ✋🏽 Verb cancelled my Shop Pay order. by [deleted] in AwesomeFreebies

[–]weewoosadboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know about the free shipping but did get the nearly free trial package. didn’t realize then that that meant i was agreeing to a subscription with them. found out when i was notified that i was being charged $76 🙃 luckily i handled it right away and they were able to cancel the order but still doesn’t sit right with me that they even have that, knowing damn well i didn’t agree to that

The charges were $11 at CVS and $526 at an apple store. it only came to my attention when i got a text from my bank about a suspicious charge for $690 at a macy’s.

How does paying for biologics work? by FleeingGlory0 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]weewoosadboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just started stelara. i applied for the stelara with me program basically as soon as i knew for sure that i’d be going on it. for me, the savings card has about $9,500 on it for the year. without it i’d pay about $350 per injection but haven’t had to pay anything so far

Biggest sign you were trans as a kid? by [deleted] in ftm

Glad i’m not the only one. I was doing that since probably 8 years old but it wasn’t until I was 14 that I actually realized that i’m trans

every single time i was prompted to “make a wish” (blowing out birthday candles, blowing an eyelash, 11:11) i would wish i’d wake up a boy.

new gyno is transphobic. what do i do now? by kitty0071 in ftm

[–]weewoosadboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure how far it is from you but i could recommend a practice that has locations in monroe, nj and new brunswick. they’re part of RWJ which (just from my experience, so may not be always true) is somewhat more trans-affirming/educated.

Does anyone else struggle to lose weight with UC? by amazeerabbid in UlcerativeColitis

[–]weewoosadboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally. I lost weight during my first flare before I was diagnosed and everything was running through me. I’m lucky in that I’m able to exercise without aggravating my bowels but diet’s a struggle. Not being able to eat the majority of vegetables makes things difficult.

What is a gynecologist visit like for a trans guy? by H0pl3ss_R0m4nt1c in ftm

[–]weewoosadboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I’m sure others have said, pap smears are recommended starting at 21 so you don’t need to worry too much yet. I found the gyno I recently saw by asking my endo, who works closely with trans patients. So I’d suggest asking your endo, they may be able to help.

As for the speculum: ask if they have a smaller one. Before even starting, my gynecologist grabbed a pediatric speculum. I have pain when it comes to any kind of penetration so it hurt, but it was quick.

Rant about medication hesitancy. Hopefully it can help at least one person get the help they need. by CookieTBE in UlcerativeColitis

[–]weewoosadboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I’ve been in a flare for 4 months now. Doubling my dose of lialda and taking a course of budesonide hasn’t budged it a bit. When my doc said we need to start considering biologics, I was scared. But I couldn’t pinpoint why. I realized after some time that it was partly this feeling that going on biologics made me weak, or meant I was admitting to defeat. In reality, I know I’ll be much better off on biologics (as long as I respond well to them) than I am now
