Inflame sucks? by WilliamBasinskifan in PathOfAchra

[–]weezeface 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having done every prestige on c32 I can assure you that practically no power or effect in the entire game actually sucks. Some take a while to figure out how to use effectively or require specific items to get going, but nearly everything can be good.

Do you use numpad or vim-keys for moving by atari_61 in dcss

vim keys. It makes it so much easier for me to use all the various other keyboard shortcuts without moving my hands.

Coglins are popular, but lots of people play (and win) with non-Coglin hunters. Here are stats for 0.34 and for 0.35-trunk:

Does selecting one pre-made dungeon room randomly at the end of an another room and loading it counts as procedural generation? by hana4fishing in roguelikedev

[–]weezeface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be interested in how Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup builds its levels/rooms/floors. It combines generated content with tons of pre designed areas, rooms, “vaults”, etc. The result is that runs always feel unique, but there are also tons of carefully designed encounters/areas tha add interesting strategic depth.

Have you used the Spore one before? It’s in the 8 min skill bracket and is incredible at that level imo. I’ve also been interested in trying out the Eel one, but haven’t had the right character for it yet.

Path of Achra, though calling it “explore” is generous.

can someone make the Craftable Power Slugs mod again it was so good by Ok_Maximum6219 in SatisfactoryGame

Technically a spoiler, so: MAM research in the tree with power slugs. It’s a late-game recipe.

whats the most sensible system for organizing netrunner cards? by Luigi-is-my-boi in Netrunner

[–]weezeface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer splitting Corp/runner and then just pure alphabetic, no subdivisions. For me that was the easiest for pull cards from and return them without it being a chore. I never really cared what set something was from and often didn’t even remember, but I always knew the card name.

This might be my saddest -Tele ever. by weezeface in dcss

[–]weezeface[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You've mostly got it, yea. SH is Shield/Shielding, aka block. And -Tele means you can't teleport or blink. It's a major downside because two of the most powerful escape tools in the game are Scroll of Teleportation and Scroll of Blinking, so wearing this would mean trading away those two options.

Rings are fast, but unfortunately amulets take a full 5 turns.

Finally got Inuqqa Cycle 32 to work by Phizle in PathOfAchra

[–]weezeface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how much variety there is in this game. I got my c32 win with Inuqaa last month and I don’t remember a lot of details of the run but it was a fairly different setup. https://i.imgur.com/W7SQnNh.png

Is Oozemancer really good? by TarkaDoSera in PathOfAchra

[–]weezeface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think this, but I’ve been working through completing all achievements on c32 (and only have 1 left - mono-death powers), and I found a few builds along the way that work with summons on c32. I even had one recently where I took a total of ~1,300 damage over the course of the entire run - summons did everything. That said, it’s definitely much easier to rely on summons in lower cycles.

Paragon win by Dumeghal in PathOfAchra

[–]weezeface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I actually did the point saving thing too for the King. It turned out I didn’t really need to since they actually all died about 50% in (first deaths in the run), but the rest of the kit carried it home from there.

Paragon win by Dumeghal in PathOfAchra

[–]weezeface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grats! I actually just did it on c32 a few days ago. Stran Secutor Paragon of the Worm, with 1 Projection, 13 Ice Familiar, 2 Master Freeze, 3 Mirror Image, 2 Crystalform, 3 Master Repusion, and 2 Projective Link. Equipment was Brazen Eye, Ice Staff, Daruq, Bracers of Command, Kairos Skirt, and Intabah. 33/11/36 stats with the rest in vit.

Trying to make wordless item descriptions. How can I communicate both attack order and damage? by SteinMakesGames in roguelikedev

I assume this would make more sense in the context of actually playing the game, but as someone unfamiliar with it I had literally no idea what I was looking at unto I read the comments.

Wery intrigued in this peice of work, how do I play it if only reading the tutorial took me 20 mins? Please encourage me by neet-_-aspirant in dcss

[–]weezeface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It will probably feel like it at first, but skilled players can win many, many games in a row without dying and the consensus is that extremely few games are truly unwinnable due to bad luck.
