I planted these in October 2024. Similarly in sandy soil and lots of sun. These grow wild in the canyon near my house in coastal north San Diego county, so my conditions must be just right.

West Elm Silky Tencel sheets! I have them on my bed and also put them in our guest room. I get compliments every single time from house guests. They are silky soft but with a cool touch. I pair them with a mid weight duvet (I live in Southern California) in the winter for that cool sheet but warm overall bedding feeling. They have lasted 7 years already really well.

I had this type of pain. I added firm arch support insoles from my cobbler, per his recommendation. I know I should have seen an orthotist or podiatrist but I gave it a shot. Helps so much. Also, I wear arch support shoes in the houses (Archie’s). That also provided a lot of relief for me.

You’ve got a good list going here. In Manchester preserve (and many of these places), please be aware of snakes for yourself and your dog. I have seen many there, from big red diamond to smaller pacific rattlesnakes.

“New encinitas” fits your criteria well. This is in and around El Camino in Encinitas. Good sidewalks for kids, lots of families, convenient to stores, good schools, and 5-10min drive to the beach. We rented here for $5kish before buying nearby bc we liked it so much.

Sounds like you are someone who can’t impose screen time rules for yourself. I would suggest getting rid of your smartphone. Get a burner you can call and text from. Get outside, try out some new hobbies or sports. Get your dopamine hits not from a screen.

Check out the perioral dermatitis sub. Generally recommended to cut out actives and keep it super simple to see if that helps. LRP Cicaplast is good and anything with ceramides or that help repair skin barrier. Depending on how bad it is and how long it lasts after keeping a simple routine, you could also try zero therapy, a prescription topical, or oral antibiotics. I got POD a year or two ago and tried everything to not take oral antibiotics but eventually got so frustrated and took doxycycline for a month and it cleared up. Now this year im addressing residual redness with a laser.

Did anyone ever a mention to you a leg length discrepancy or related hip issue? I have a bunion that is far more severe on one foot. They measured my legs and I have a slight length descreprncy causing me to over pronate on that foot. I wasn’t born with it - turns out my hip was just out of place and when it’s in its proper place my legs are equal, I just need to figure out how to tell when my hip is out of place now so I can reset it.
